Other than the gigantic gaps these guys and girls do at these WC tracks, that rock garden is some thing I would not even attempt, the worlds best looking like they are out of their comfort and skill zones, every OTB in that clip had me gasping air in thru my teeth.

I love all these pot shots at the mega-companies soulless ordering of every bit and piece from unscrupulous piece part brokers in countries whose toxic sludge won't show up on our doorstep for a long time to come. It's extremely important to produce regionally with a mind toward the long term good of the people in the company.

I think you miss the point of their effort. It wasn't to reinvent the bike. It was to responsibly source a bike that has the capacity to run any and all standards available, allow for future innovations to mesh with the bike design. The huge news is that they sourced virtually everything from scratch themselves and didn't have to hemorrhage money and get still hit elite quality standards on pretty much the first run at carbon. 11 years in the making and this is what they bring? That's disappointing. It's like James Cameron said about "Avatar" it was 19 years in the making. Visually stunning movie but regurgitated story line and absolutely no originality. Sad.

It's a lot to digest for sure, let me try to summarize: 18 hardware options instead of 80; intentionally designed eye-to-eye and stoke length rather than a collection of lengths determined by happenstance; consistent internal pressures and performance across an entire range regardless of length/stroke; decreased friction throughout; increased internal space for modern shock technology; designing bikes around shocks and no longer vice-versa; a consistent platform from which to develop kinematics.
