8/1/2024 9:18am I wonder if they recorded it and then had second thoughts at the last minute after the podcast editor had all put together and was too booked to make a revision...so they just bleeped it and uploaded it rather than trying to cut around it and find a way to still make it feel like a natural conversation. Either way...

8/1/2024 8:35am Yooooooooo, y'all! How do you cats feel about brand loyalty? Are you more of a "try every brand of component" kind of person or would you rather stick to what you know? What about frames? Is it odd if a non-sponsored person buys only from one brand? Or maybe it's more odd to have a few brands in the stable...

7/31/2024 10:02am If you want to drive yourself crazy on rumors, listen to the latest Making Up the Numbers podcast where they talk for a minute or two about rumors but bleep out all the rider names and team names. Cruel stuff. 🤣

7/29/2024 9:37pm This is exactly why I'm not interested in SuperBoost. I know that if I have two complete bikes, they'll be different enough that I'll be sharing parts (wheels included) with the intention of blurring those lines sometimes...so I need things to work back-and-forth.

7/29/2024 9:35pm Pretty much all of those. I had 3 Evil's in a row and I absolutely loved how they rode, when they switched to Superboost I ended up getting a Transition. I have several mountain bikes that are all 148, and I've had several times where I've borrowed a wheel or wheelset from one to put on another. In addition, multiple companies are making DH frames with 148 spacing so the whole argument of "Superboost allows for stiffer wheels" seems overblown.

7/29/2024 11:03am I have a lot of words on this topic. Sorry for the rant. I've had some thoughts bubbling on this for the last few bike rides/travel dates for work/technologically-induced downtimes. The good news is yesterday I stopped thinking about this when I broke a rock with my leg. That's a story for a different time. I work in audio/music. We...

7/28/2024 10:42pm Pivot? Evil? Knolly? Devinci? All bikes I'd consider if not for superboost. Any other brands I should know to place on the "bad decision" pile?

SteveClimber Liked a reply to forum topic Scrubs are slower then squashing: My MTB hot take
7/25/2024 8:20pm Counter point, going into the jump with more speed and scrubbing to stay low and hit the sweet spot of the landing could still be faster even though you don't land perfectly straight and lose speed sliding off the lip and on the landing. As the other option would be, take the same amount of speed, gap far and not hit the down ramp, so you can't pump, spend too much time in the air. Take less speed and land perfect, probably slower??? Take extra speed and squash, but I've always found scrubbing you could stay lower than a straight...

7/24/2024 2:14pm Being helped and treated right thru warranties is the way to earn my loyalty. The worst feeling in MTB is when your shit breaks. It makes it much more bearable when you know you can go home, send an email to get yourself sorted.

7/24/2024 1:34pm TL;DR - Staying with the same bike company and similar component spec would make my soon-to-be-pair of bikes work together to reduce downtime (by sharing consumable parts) and increase each bike's flexibility (by sharing non-consumables)...but does that "loyalty" to a set of brands come at the cost of not getting a more ideal bike with more ideal part spec for...
