6/25/2024 7:17pm Real quick, the switchblade could not hold a candle next to the sentinel at descending. Most bikes in this category are pretty similar in geo, travel, and price. Unless you look at the new HP trail bikes, those are a totally different animal and require a separate conversation. Is price a factor? Do you care about difficulty of maintenance? What types of riding to you spend the most time doing? What kind of trails are they? Do you care about weight? What kind of climbing do you have to do, is it technical or smooth? I dont see the point...

6/18/2024 2:17pm I love my Stumpy EVO I have a Zeb on it and I switch between a deluxe air and deluxe coil depending if I'm going to do some lift served stuff for a whole weekend. The head angle and chain stay adjustments actually make a huge difference, that along with tires this thing works awesome for me from local XC after work rides to big Pisgah rides to a weekend at Snowshoe/Windrock. I'm on the alloy frame and I plan to keep this indefinitely and if it breaks ill probably get the new one if they have an alloy as...

6/18/2024 2:16pm Also on a 2021 Sentinel and I'll probably ride it til it dies. More options for you are the Atherton 150, RAAW Madonna (Jibb might fit the all mountain category better), and Forbidden Druid. I did demo a We Are One Arrival 150 and it's the only bike I've tried that has tempted me towards a new frame. That bike was a ton of fun to ride

6/17/2024 1:06pm Why not another sentinel if you liked it? Could ride the current one till it actually breaks and get a crash replacement frame. Spires/Patrols are also less playful than the sentinel but still have a pretty decent pedaling platform/playfulness if you want to try something with more travel.

6/17/2024 1:06pm Orbea Rallon always gets very good reviews, pick a Santa Cruz in your category also. Nothing will be miles better than a Sentinel which is already such a solid bike so maybe look for extra features like in frame storage etc I'm considering the new Rocky Altitude, but I'd say it's more race bike than all mountain

6/17/2024 1:06pm The new Hightower should be considered too. It's very solidly in that category with a slight tilt towards descents. I'd consider a V2 Druid too. 130mm travel only but definitely rides as if it had more. In this category I think tires can make a huge difference and can tilt any bike more towards trail or enduro depending on what rubber is mounted up. Jeffsy could be a contender too at a cheaper price point if that is a consideration. You could do a Revel Rail also which behaves more as an all mountain bike. Lot's to choose from for...

6/15/2024 10:25pm Yeah I'm wondering if that could be a good option...definitely leaning more towards the downhill side of things rather than the perfect balance. Curious if the new stumpy could be the ticket or if the switchblade is still the best move. Don't think selling the sentinel and then buying a fresh one makes much sense either so might just have...

6/15/2024 7:18pm Coming off a 2021 Transition Sentinel, love the thing to death but it’s extremely clapped by this point. Obviously the Stumpy Evo is an immediate question to potentially move to but I found the Ripmo to not be enough bike for my liking. Want to stay in the same general geo/travel numbers and curious people’s thoughts on what to consider...
