I've got a lot of support for this argument. I've done some of my own tyre testing:

Plus you need some learning time, you can't just randomly change bike setup every run and expect to somehow get the most out of it, you need familiarisation time to predict what your tyres will do. The entire subject is difficult and I applaud anyone who attempts to dive into it.
