4/10/2021 6:40am Wyn looks to be on the same new frame but with a 38 up front. I bet Martins just playing around with the lighter front end setup doing some experimenting.

4/7/2021 8:44am Damn that is one HARDCORE hardtail. You'd have to really abuse/neglect that thing to put it out of commission lol.

bermslapper69 Added a reply to X01 eagle vs. GX eagle
4/6/2021 9:56am Dude, I’ve had problems with teeth breaking on GX cassettes (10-50 version) which is why I’ve had to replace them. Cranks I’ve only swapped because I’ve tried different lengths so I haven’t technically gone through 2 cranks, I was just looking at what I have sitting off the bike. Thanks for addressing my original question though!

4/6/2021 9:56am Maybe you’ve seen this, but this has some good info on long term durability of the two group sets: https://bikepacking.com/gear/sram-eagle-review/

4/6/2021 9:55am I had an X01 Eagle derailleur last me 2 years without issue. In contrast, I went through a GX Eagle derailleur in 6 months before it developed play and lost shift quality. The X01 Eagle chain also last far longer than GX. The GX Eagle cassette, cranks and shifter seemed solid to me. What issues were you having with those?

4/5/2021 7:07pm Have you thought about running a oneup top guide (minimal but effective, haven't heard of any chains getting sucked in) with a non-guide bashguard down below to protect the BB area?
bermslapper69 Started a new thread X01 eagle vs. GX eagle
4/5/2021 7:01pm Have had GX eagle on my bike the past couple seasons and want to ditch it (been thru 3 derailleurs, 3 cassettes, 2 cranks, many a chain) and wanna know how X01 stacks up comparatively. Everything I've heard online makes it seem like X0 is miles ahead of GX in durability and performance. Is it worth sticking with sram and...

4/3/2021 5:13pm Brett Rheeder off Fox suspension, didn't like the terms with Marzocchi, will be running a variety of different suspension setups to find what he likes. His DJ is on an Öhlins fork, though it looks like a dps in the rear. He also confirmed he has some stuff from Intend and EXT.

Here is an example of the 7 speed axs on a bike. I was wanting to find out how he programmed it or made it work with the original tuning available

3/31/2021 9:38am The new santa cruz colors all seem to be inspired by the trouser section of a department store (bar a few bright colors)

3/31/2021 9:36am It might be a look straight out of 2002 but I dig intense’s look in an otherwise mostly boring bike industry. It also fits a brand that focuses on racing and decided to call itself intense. I can certainly see why it doesn’t appeal to everyone but boring bikes don’t appeal to me. Much preferred the busier paint schemes of Santa Cruz from 4 or 5 years ago then what they got going currently. Personally trek has produced most of my favorite finishes. Things are never flashy like intense but never really boring either. Perfect balance of uniqueness, flash, and...

3/30/2021 4:25pm I think the big miss here is the wheelset. An X2 would definitely make more sense but the dpx2 has consistently punched above it's weight in the most recent iteration from my personal experiences. Those deore brakes also are rock solid with metallic pads and seem to have less of a wandering bite point issue too. The wheels are the only real miss in my eyes, those wtb rims don't seem to be great and I'd want dt 350's on a $5200 bike instead of the reliable but lackluster 370's it comes with. Not sure what you'd be throwing in...

3/30/2021 12:20pm Want to be clear. I love Intense bikes, the brand, Jeff & Jenn all the way back to when Greg Wulff worked there before sliding over to Turner. Just haven't been a paint scheme/sticker fan on the models I've lusted over in many years. I owe my start in DH & serious trail riding to them. He gave me my first Grassroots bike. Had team colors, gave us Intense team jerseys that his top pros were wearing & Jeff worked on my bike himself at this National like I mattered. Would love to rep the brand again but budget has...
