The vast majority of complaints arise when speaking specifically about DH courses that involve pedaling. Yes, sometimes riders bitch about climbing (like normal people do) but they still all ride trail bikes and train on road. They mainly complain about pedaling in a sport that is totally focused with going downhill. Therefore the best tracks are 100% downhill. Introducing flat or even uphill sections in a DH race is not a good thing. Same goes for alpine ski racing. When there are flat, slow sections it sucks. And ski racers complain about it.
