Adam_Schaeffer Added a comment about feature Nukeproof's 2021 Giga Line Has Finally Dropped

Some people like to 'play' when they ride MTB. 27.5" is more responsive to rider input and changes in direction/acceleration/braking. Speed isn't everything, sometimes its more about the sensation with the bike. Wheels/tires/frames/forks are always lighter, don't need carbon rims to keep things feeling tight, easier to pump/generate speed using terrain vs maintaining momentum on 29". I'd say its a more engaging process, and for some riders that feels more rewarding. Why would you care if someone doesn't want to ride the same wheel size as you?

The rear line twist at the lever needs to be clocked. Unbolt the lever from the bar, unthread the compression fitting until the line can rotate. Then you can rotate the lever body 180 deg from where it would be on the bar. Snug the fitting by hand, then start tightening it with a wrench. The lever will rotate back to its ideal position as you torgue the fitting. Think about holding the line in the position you want and screwing the lever into the line. Hope install is finicky.

Track down the inline fitting used at the lever - its the same thread pitch and can be used at the caliper. I did this on a custom Bronson and it worked well. The bend is much softer.

Being nice to the employees at your friendly local bike shops! They can't speed up overseas raw materials production, adjust the value of national currencies or prevent cargo ships from sinking, so, even though it's a bummer the bike service queue is 3 weeks long or your new bike won't be in for a month, let them know you appreciate what they do for our communities! That would mean the world to a lot of us... We can only work with ETAs given to us by the suppliers.. And that info seems to change on the daily.. We really would...

I think most people judge bikes before they even sort out their spring rates. "This bike pedals like crap." 40% sag. "This bike is really soft and dead feeling." No volume spacers. "This bike is really bad on steep trails." Fork too soft. "It's so harsh on rough trails." Also fork too soft.

I have this conversation with a lot of customers. In the PNW, these are 2nd/3rd/etc bikes. If you want one rig for everything, most of these brands offer a 140mm 29er, which seems to be the sweet spot. Unfortunately, the 140mm completes typically come with a spec that is burlier/heavier, almost the same as their 160mm counterparts. What I've been doing lately is custom building the 140mm platform with a build kit that is closer to the 120mm builds. Pike, 27mm rims, 2.3 or 2.4 EXO tires, etc. Keep the weight under 30lbs but have enough travel to back up...
