PSHHHHH, yeah ok Bentonville. Just because you guys have the Walmart family bankrolling your trail system doesn't make you guys the capital. It just makes you on the same level as patent and trademark trolls gobbling up that naming. TEAMROBOT time to bring back the list. For real thought the fact that the Walmart family is throwing a crap ton of money at improving local trails for an area of the country that isn't know for being physically active is good. But on the other hand maybe they should pay their workers a fucking living wage and not have their...

First of all... something must have slipped through the cracks, because we never want to leave anyone hanging. I'm sorry if you did't get taken care of at the time, but send us a message again if there is anything we can do for you now. We happen to be using an entirely different carbon facility since the frame you owned. But even within one bike model coming out of the same exact tooling, we will adjust process and layup over time to attempt to address issues we see out in the real world. Nothing is completely static. --Sam

Hey Masjo, Lars here. Our partnership with FMD was a huge thing for us. We weren't looking for a WC DH team, but Marshy gave me a little nudge and insight that they would be a really good fit for us. I've known Marshy since 08 when I was in Europe racing WC's, and he was our mechanic when we had the team with Jill, Bryn and myself. I reached out to Tony (Seagrave) and within an hour long call we had developed a plan for the team. It was born out of a mutual love for the sport and...

This same argument is happening in reverse right now in the comments for the "Test Sessions: Five Slack, Short-Travel 29ers" review. Over there someone is complaining that the test bikes are so heavy, so why even bother buying a short travel bike? "If it's going to weigh the same as an enduro bike anyway..." blah blah blah. TRAVEL NUMBERS DICTATE MORE THAN JUST PEDALING EFFICIENCY AND BUMP ABSORPTION. Even if a long-travel bike is light and feels "efficient" pedaling up a gravel fire road, it's going to ride like shit on a flattish pumpy trail. Long travel bikes are built...

Against better judgement, I will jump in. I'm not "wanting my mountain bike to be a moto". But I do want my mountain bike to work well. When it comes to "working well" there are so many things that crossed over from mountain biking with much success its absolutely incredible. For fun, go look at a mountain bike around 2000. Now go look at a moto. Yes, there have been changes to both, but which one looks more like it did in 2000s trim? Hell the YZ250 is the exact same bike as it was in 2005 as it is...

In my opinion, the social (esp IG) influencer personality and content has a shelf life. People are going to catch on to how disingenuous it is, and it’s going to become more and more transparent how ‘advertisey’ it is. When we make a move to work with someone of any stature, be it mega pro to local ripper / good person their social reach is far from a metric we place value on. It might seem ridiculous but we place human contact and interaction value so far beyond any social bs. I find it a shame that so many companies...

E13 components are hot garbage now. Mostly made of cheese. And, considering that an injury caused by component failure could potentially ruin a season, career or livelihood I'd like to believe that a professional racer is going to choose what he/she trusts isnt going to let them down. E13 claiming it was a freak accident in my opinion is total BS. I feel like John Hall did them a huge service in laying on that PR grenade and taking the blame for a shoddy product. Makes me wonder how much they paid Hall off to say that cuz it kinda...

Damn... They are getting skewered... My only real gripe on this whole climate strike is that they are pushing it on the backs of kids... I know every 13 year old is suddenly an expert on climate change and not simply regurgitating whatever they've been fed... There is evidence of several climate shifts prior to the industrial revolution.. I'm not saying mankind hasn't contributed, but it may not be all man made either... But, yes.. doing our part to conserve some resources isn't a bad thing... There are still many questions about our planet that haven't been answered..

Eh, maybe. I'm not sure Vital is exactly the designated audience nor do I believe the conversation ends up circling towards bike industry sustainability and environmentalism. More than likely it'll end with someone talking about their own wokeness, how Specialized "gets it" and how they aren't the ones that are the problem. That said, the social media conversations I've seen happening (REI for instance) are a lot more "GFY, this is so complex take your virtue signaling elsewhere" than they are "yes, lets all rally around this and fix it". We can't even figure out what bathroom to use in...

RE: Specialized "Stunt" Its refreshing to me so many people seem to be peering past the virtue signaling of it all. I used to go nuts trying to show people its not as simple as one action, and we're so vested in this "way of life" that its maddening to try and suggest a plastic straw will change anything. I'm not saying "give up", but I am saying its important, at least to me, to be truthful with yourself as to what one "positive" action is really worth, and to the hypocrisy of life in the modern era within the...

In case everyone missed it, Specialized is one of hundreds of other companies closing their doors on Friday in the name of climate change. While I'm sure there are others in the industry doing the same thing, the Big S is the only manufacturer of that caliber I'm aware of partaking. Without being overly political, I'm curious the collective's thoughts on this, though really it brings up a bigger question (which I'll get to below EDIT; for the TLDR crowd, the question is "should we make bikes/parts last longer" scroll down for the meat). As far as this Friday is...

Although I think he did the correct thing in doing the treatment and anyone here would have done the same since no one wants to take the risk of losing a limb, I do think the wise thing would have been to research the medicine as soon has he had the chance (since at that moment they couldn’t apparently) and apply for the TUE while continuing the medicine since it was needed. I think thats where Maes and GT team manager failed and probably regret not having done more investigation. The denial of the TUE by the UCI was probably...

This is simply dumb. Life has nuance and you need to be able to accommodate it and be flexible. We all understand that these athletes are responsible for what goes in their bodies, but why doesn't everyone think there is this massive infrastructure for these races to check on all these things? This is Enduro not the NBA. Is Sven and the NZ Enduro going to have a full time compliance officer with a medical background to ensure all of the VOLUNTEER medical staff are aware of the bike racing regulations and be able to debate with a physician over...

I think its funny my boycott idea got downvoted so hard. The riders have the leverage if they actually act like it. No riders. No race. Anyone who wins this year, be it at this race or the overall, knows they did so with a big "*" above their name. Its lame. So lame. And if you (an EWS racer) think some technicallity based in the road world or otherwise couldn't strip you of your awesome season, you are sorely mistaken. The EWS needs the ability to overrule something like this. Otherwise, Chris has lost control, which isn't a good...
