Congrats on getting married this week. I thought you should know that the AI art at the top made be barf and I couldn't read your article for fear of seeing more.
So much financial knowledge yet gets married. Maybe we can get a separate thread to educate us all on prenups. Kidding aside, congrats. And apart from the AI...

Kidding aside, congrats. And apart from the AI slop again interesting read.
Throw the baby out with the bath water?
We all lean on technology. Some more than others.
That’s like talking shit to the Captain that just safely got your ass back on the ground with a CATIII autoland. “Why didn’t you just hand fly it??”
Jeff didn’t charge you a single penny for the info provided or the work done.
When I’m given something for free I don’t talk crap about it.
I own thousands of dollars worth of Fox Factory products and I enjoy using them. My first experience with Fox Factory goes back to 1980 and riding a CR250R equipped with Fox Airshox. Then 1990 and a Twin Clicker for my FZR600. Soon after the the Fox shock on my Super V 1000.
That leads to a focused interest in the company and its financial wellbeing. Jeff made that much more clear and all it cost me was my time.
Shitting on the guy giving us insight into the industry we are all dependent on is not a wise investment.
How many times can you guys chase this man away and expect him to come back
I don't think critiquing the use of AI slop means people are trying to chase him away. He's an extremely smart guy with a lot of insight that everyone is very grateful for, and proud to have as part of this community. (We love you Jeff). I think it's normal for people you like to make decisions you disagree with. Everyone gives their friend some shit when they say something dumb, or yells at the TV when their favorite soccer player makes a bad pass.

This was my aim. Just pointing out that putting such AI cover/title shot can detract or even block people from reading otherwise quality content. Which would be a shame as in the end I expect writers put stuff out(either paid or free) to engage readers.
So let me get this straight... Jeff gives a good detailed analysis of a situation and some of you are grabbing torches and pitchforks because he's a finance major and not a graphic designer? 1 Ai generated picture and you want to chase him off...

Couldn't the same be said of content with no images, too many images, strange images, or some combination of those things?
Seems that would be similar to skipping listening to an album or reading a book because the cover art isn't interesting/ugly/not something enough. Same with tossing a gift from someone because the wrapping paper or bow doesn't pass an arbitrary test/bar.
Granted something could detract for some people but it will not detract for other people. As a point it is technically correct but so what?
The content was quite good and appreciated by someone like myself who is not very conversant in the details of business financial transactions and seeing how a company can lose a metric tonne of money on a decision that at the time made sense to enough people to allow it to go through.
I don't think Jeff is pulling a fast one and I doubt he has access to hordes or artisans ready to whip out images ready for the Louvre at the drop of a hat.
For my dos pesos I appreciate insights on something like that which is more interesting than your standard bike fare or lazy content that you see on some other sites.
But we agree that the bike pictured has no handlebar, the wheel isnt round and there are bits of tyres floating around the background?
My advice isn't "don't do AI", but regenerate the picture to get something that looks like a bike. If you don't care that a bike is a bike, how can we know that you care whether any of the numbers or info is correct?
(Having similar discussions on nearly a daily basis at work, every software/data/information industry is cooked)

There’s just something about obvious AI images that riles people up.
Danny got the same with his Whistler video, first couple comments….

Fair point on your first sentence. And that shows that different people appreciate different things.
I merely pointed out that for me, the AI picture didn't reflect the quality content of the article. I complimented Jeff on the content and that was that. If that's considered ''flaming'' I'll take note of that, and refrain from giving feedback whatsoever.

Is that similar to the magazines my dad had when I was a kid where the pictures distracted me from reading the articles?
I don't think there is an overlap between people doing the chasing and people wanting @jeff.brines to stay...
But yeah, it won't be the same if you stop posting Jeff.

One of the best movie quotes

Also, without Jeff, this thread is cooked.
If Jeff was trying to pass himself off as a graphic designer, then yes, he would deserve to get flamed..
