someone get this man a vital shirt!
100% thanks for sharing @dantecusolito
AON riders are going outside (green) and everyone else is either going inside single double (blue) or outside to inside (green to blue).
Joe Breeden was the only one to pull a massive double to single on the inside (red). It was insane.
What is the general rider reaction to this track? Curious to know if they're "enjoying" the process of figuring out what's a fast line vs. having to commit on a track that is mostly mainline, and ludicrous speed wins
It’s hard to tell. I know a couple of the course sweepers and they seem to be having fun just lapping, but the process of eking out tenths of seconds that the actual racers have to do might not be as fun. I’m sure wyn’s interviews will shed some light after Q2. I don’t want to distract them when they’re using 110% of their brain power figuring out lines already.
Ok do we just start sending someone to marshal races from now on? With the added mspaint line overlays, we are literally in the inside line
So loose on top with a nice slippery bed surface once it cuts in?
Riders are going to drop every 30 seconds in Q1 today, so @dantecusolito will be busier than a one-armed paper hanger if he's going to post live updates (and maybe photos and video clips) here.
Knowing he'll be a legend, I have faith in him to do this.🥳
I can try, but I’m only marshaling until 12:30. Then gonna watch for a bit more and head over to catch the short track.
@sspomer can we get an excel sign up list started for next year to ensure a vital marshal at every race?
Uh oh... looks like Gracey's going to have to go through Q2.
Vali was blazing in her run.
Big impact on the overall standings already.
Q1 racers who qualified:
Very impressive from Vali, considering she does not have a team on a new track, and her usual mechanic is not with her.
A pissed off Vali seems to be a fast Vali. At least compared to the average rider who probly shouldn't ride pissed off.
USDH with a strong showing for Q1!!

7 Americans through men's elite Q1!!!
dante 10th is so sick!
A few notes on Q1:
- Vali Höll adds 50 points to her lead over Gracey Hemstreet in the standings. She goes into tomorrow's finals with a 177 point lead.
- Loic Bruni increases his lead to 107 points over Jackson Goldstone, adding 7 points more than Jackson from Q1 today.
- Dante Silva is having a pretty nice year: Qualifying in 10th today as a privateer, finishing second just behind Aaron Gwin in the Monster Energy Downhill Series, and a 5th place at the US National Championships.
Luca closed to the points gap to Loris for 3rd in the overall by 40 points but has Amaury between them
also what is the state of D Mapes hand he is still able to race at this level? Dude is putting it all on the line. P14 and straight through is kinda crazy, with injury.
barely 4 seconds separating the top 20, wowza
Gracey crashed in the second corner. The first left is a berm, then there’s the left she crashed in which is two 120 degree ruts with rocks in them
Max Alran by 7.7
that time would put him at 10th in elite.
And his brother didn't make the top 20. He was 2nd at 2nd split and then lost time the rest of the way. Maybe a flat tire?

Did Frida get 6th in Q2 again? That is brutal. It's weird how it's almost like you'd rather just go 7th, fuck it... Anything but 6th again and again. Fcuk
Q2 Women: Gracey would have made it through Q1 with her time in Q2, but her time is a little more than 8 seconds slower than Vali's Q1.
He (Till) and Oli Clark (who missed the cut) were well off their TT pace so I'm assuming a flat or other mechanical
Edit: Forgot that Juniors are only 20 riders in finals, so Till also missed the cut.
lawlor said of dak's quali run "dak smashed chainring in first rock section. cranks locked, couldn't pedal or rotate cranks the entire run"
EDIT - his cranks weren't locked but he had no chain apparently.
