80 passengers every 15 minutes (plus load / unload time). Wonder how many they can fit with bikes?
For comparison, the gondola at Fort William...
Could we get some slow-mo of these whoops. It looks epic for the bike and the riders. So far the best clip I have seen was Wyn masters, jumping and skimming!!
No practice time for Gwin? Am I just not seeing it?
Timed training is not mandatory, AFAIK. Some riders choose not to do a timed training run. In the past, Gwin was often one of those riders who did not complete a timed training run before qualifying (or started but pulled over mid-run). Doesn't necessarily mean anything.

I know we're in for a grand spectacle and I'm SO eager for the racing that's upon us.. But boy what I would've done to see a return of the legend between the DH-tape..
Allright that's enough off-line and what isn't, back to what is: RACING!

Thanks. I recall Gwin regularly taking it easy for timed training, but when I didn't see any time I was worried perhaps he was injured or something. I'm also anxious to see how he does on the new bike and being healthy.

There is a rule about it. The minimum requirement is 100 riders per hour (pretty lax, in other words...).

Something tells me they weren't even meeting this lax requirement today...

On Bernard's uTube you hear them say riders had waited 4 hours in the lift queue. Must be a Vail owned resort.
Intense riders already running modified rocker links. Makes me wonder if there's a strength/durability issue with the mustache thin design or if this is more tinkering with geo and kinematics. Also seen on AG's IG.

Impressive eyes on this one.
Really curious to see how qualies go. Timed training doesn't always mean much, although the top 5 guys are definitely going quick. Would be sick to see Gwin light it up given his history in Lourdes, but the vibes don't feel great with uplift/practice shenanigans, would think he'd want more than 3 runs on the new bike in a World Cup setting? Plus the new link is a variable.

Everything in the excuse book will come out to play for Gwin, he'll then reply with "the guys online know nothing" yet he will still be down the sheets.
Yes i understand im not at that level myself but am a Passionate fan who can read how fast people are going at the elite level, as can everyone else.

35th for Gwin, Dak somewhat better at 13th, but the Intense doesn't seem to be living up to some people's expectations so far this weekend.
Kinda disappointed that Mulally hasn't qualified for the main event too.

For comparison, the gondola at Fort William handles 1700 people an hour.

The UCI has rules for just about everything, why not a minimum uplift capacity for the venue?

That Scott rider (Romain Chatalay according to his number) sure was living dangerously with his landing off the jump before the whoops.

terrifying - the woods w/ like three big compressions/hucks in a row. insanity.
Forbidden Dreadnought?
Orbea Rallon?
Norco Range?
Any others?
Bet the riders were happy to have bottle cages so they could stay hydrated during those long uplift queues.

and gwin may have taken it easy to make sure he qualified. he's not protected. maybe not though, who knows.
