Fabien Barel (Mondraker / Subaru) came off his bike at the Sospel bike park while training for the first round of the World Cup.
The report says that he lost control of his bike and was carried out to an emergency room in Monaco. The medical record mentions a head injury (no details - concussion?) and a fractured femur. The 2-time world champ wanted to reassure his family and supporters by waving his hand before taking off for Monaco.
The 2010 season looks bad, and Fabien can already forget the first round in one week in Maribor where he made a triumphant return after injuring his knee in early 2009.

The guy is so much fun to watch riding. He is just a ball of amazing skills.
And his amazing return last year... will have to be followed by another amazing return this year
