Purposely made this away from the main thread as not to annoy the rants from grumpy forum peeps of noise

Warner slipped and from what was not censored it seemed like the words were "Gwin" "new bike" "going back".

I think it narrows it to the following choices:

Where is Gwin Going?

If you have a different option, add what you had in mind below.

(edited by Vital admins to make it a real poll. good stuff MrPrometheus!)

Yea. I'm gonna boycott him for the whole season and promise not to get excited if he does well.

He was never very big in MX was he? I thought he was mostly a mini bike specialist.

I voted back to Martin Whitely.

I voted for other... for me YT but still don't know with who... maybe MW maybe not. I'm convinced it takes a while because lot of new not-mainstream sponsors

|

1/22/2016 7:32 PM

Yeah, I really want to know, but I'm getting bored with it. Part of it certainly has to do with contracts, but if not he/the sponsor definitely missed the crest of the hype cycle around this thing. He's still a great rider and I'm proud to have an American on top again. And, the dude needs some freakin' room to handle his business. The sport is gnarly and a career can end in a blink so he is smart to grind on getting paid. Nevertheless, if I had to trade Gwin for Fabien Barel magically coming back, I'd take it. Sorry bro.

I took a screen shot recently off Gwin's instagram. The shadow of the front triangle looks exactly like a V10. No way that's a YT. I'm confidently predicting Santa Cruz.

As Gwins description says, this is an old video. Pretty sure he has released this video when he first joined spesh.

Ticked other as I really dont care anymore......left the announcement too long and the speculation game is getting a little old. Sick of opening a forum and reading "Gwin is riding for XYZ Bikes in 2016".

Who cares. Too much hype for what it really is.

the rumor has been to YT bikes with under sponsers of KTM and audi, but has anyone considered that KTM could be joining the DH game. they make bicycles. they have more money than specialized and trek combined, and he has had a relationship with them for years. KTM isn't afraid to make products specifically for their best athletes, and will go great distances to make stuff happen.

|

He's going nowhere. 'cause no one can afford him.

haha

All of the KTM assumptions, have been pretty entertaining. But now it borders on annoying with the amount of misinformation out there.

-You say KTM 'makes' bicycles, there is a KTM bicycle company, it has nothing to do with KTM motorcycle company.
-You say "KTM has more money than specialized and trek combined" not sure what you mean, but, if you are talking revenue, it's rumored that Trek has hit the billion dollar in revenue per year, and specialized is almost there. KTM moto company is about 1.1 billion in revenue. The KTM bike brand, I do not know, but, I would venture to guess its 1/20th what moto revenue is.
-You say "He has had a relationship with KTM for years", last I checked, he rode honda's for most of his life, and just 2 years ago started riding KTM's? since he lives in the same town the U.S. headquarters are in.
-KTM in the DH game? who knows, their focus right now is commuter/hybrid/light duty MTB, with a couple new XC carbon race steeds, but again, no relation to the KTM moto company.
-You say "KTM isn't afraid to make products specifically for their best athletes", very true, the moto division anyways, I can't speak to the bike brand. No moto brand has seen such a dramatic rise to prominence as KTM has in the last 5 years, incredible brand with great people at it.

source: I work at a company that operates the KTM 250 factory supercross team.

Love peoples comments like who cares or way too much hype. No shit but it is the off season so what are we suppose to do? When is the first world cup? at least we have EWS and Crankworx to give us something to look forward to.

All of the speculation and rumors have truly gotten out of hand. There are a few of us on this forum that actually have inside info and are not saying anything because its the right thing to do. Just quit speculating and wait till its announced.
(its a couple of days- not your girlfriend refusing to tell you whether she's pregnant or not)

I will tell you that this will be notable. Whatever is announced Gwin will be getting a good bike and proper support through his sponsors. Now back to my glass of Basil Hayden

What if he just seriously f**ked up by leaving Specialized and he's still looking for a sponsor?

|

2/6/2016 9:28 AM

|
