When Sam Hill decided to trade full-time World Cup downhill racing for full-time Enduro World Series racing there was a collective sigh of disappointment among his superfans. Fast-forward to the beginning of the 2017 season and we see that Sam and Chain Reaction Cycles are letting us know he's taking enduro racing just as seriously as his DH efforts of years past. CRC, Nukeproof and SRAM have been working together on his latest EWS weapon which features the newly-released RockShox Super Deluxe rear dampers.
Sam and the CRC team were joined by RockShox tech wizard, Evan Warner, in the northern mountains of Italy to test out a variety of different Super Deluxe shocks and configurations for the upcoming season. Sam's hand-built aluminum prototype Nukeproof Mega was tested using a Super Deluxe RC3, moving to a Super Deluxe RCT that has external rebound damping adjustment with a two-position compression adjustment; open and pedal modes, and lo-speed compression adjustment in open mode. Finally they tried out a Super Deluxe RT remote shock which they mated to a GripShift shifter. Sam preferred the cleanliness of the GripShift remote and we may see this setup at some of the EWS races this season.

Sam's build is rounded out with high-end goods we'd expect to see like a SRAM Eagle X01 drivetrain, Mavic wheels and tires (Claw 2.5 front and Charge 2.4 rear), RockShox Reverb post, Sam's signature Nukeproof bars and stem (50mm) and a RockShox Lyrik with 170mm travel.

It warmed our hearts to see flat pedals aboard this bike. Go get 'em Sam!
