As someone who was there from the very beginning (okay EWS #2), I think the story arc of EWS/EDR is a bit more complex that people think, and that Chis Ball is not the boogie man some make him out to be. Regurgitated post from another thread but this EDR grieving thread seems appropriate... EWS/EDR is mostly directly supported by the COMMUNITY of riders that are actively participating in Enduro racing, not random bored YouTube and HBO algorithm drifters. At least to me the most successful period of EWS was when there was a well promoted international web of qualifier events and 100/80 events along side the Elite races. People could actually aspire to racing an elite event and the pathway was clearly defined. Or there was the option to race an 80 to justify the trip out to watch elites Sunday...

EWS went from "World" series to "European bike park" series. There were only 6 rounds in 2025 and they were in France, Italy, Poland, Austria, Italy again, and France again. They wanted to do live coverage like DH instead of the 25 minute recap videos that came out on Monday. So instead of going to another continent and actually making it a WORLD series, they just went to places they could stream it easier. I went from an enduro die hard fan when EWS started back in the day, to barely checking results or coverage around 2024. Some of it is personal, when EWS started out, I had met a lot of the French pros at local/regional/national races, it was easy to root for your local teenager: Nicolai, Cure, Dailly, Tordo and the legends Barel and Vouilloz. Little by little they started to retire or get hurt and not perform quite as well, these days I only recognise a handful of the names in the top 10. Hate to bring up a sour subject...

They shouldn't have tried to make it in anyway live. Check out on YT the previous race coverage from 2018/2019 - you had Ric riding the stages before hand with Chris Ball (before he sold out) doing a preview, and then a what happened last time video and finally a results video - they were a much better format for coverage. Edit - when I say live I mean televised. Live timing results - definitely good.

Social views will include all social media platforms, long and short form. That 225M social is entirely plausible on that basis. Reminder: these kind of reach/views stats are actually more important for sponsors (especially non-endemic) rather than core fans as it feeds into paid/earned media views matrix. In terms of WBD cumulative channel views of racing, with 122M+ subscribers, 15M doesn't seem unreasonable, especially if you factor in clips appearing in other shows etc and if you're applying either YouTube's 30s or Meta's 3s threshold to count as a view. I agree, this reporting seems off. Anecdotally, most people I know now ONLY watch the highlights because its free. Which is a shame because the racing has been bonkers these last few years.

I understand what enduro is, I've been racing in its very enjoyable format for 10 years all across Canada. And the downvotes on your posts are likely because of the attitude you've so far been presenting your suggestions in. Endurance racing and Enduro as it is i see as separate, with current enduro format evolving from a mix of big mountain endurance races and Super D in the early 2010's. Its just different then endurance. While I'm happy to be wrong, I doubt you will see the general public that do enjoy following enduro care about timed up's or the bikes that come with it. It's a tough road but a fun one, I would suggest your son get some cash from some local business outside the industry and take off for Europe for the summer. Find a roommate in Morzine or in Finale Ligure then hitch a ride or get to know people to hit few races in Europe.
