I'm wearing some weird Wrangler All Terrain Gear pants that I saw on sale. Biggest selling points: were cheap, slim cuffs at the ankle to keep out of chain but had enough room for knee pads, seemed to be durable material, had built-in belt so I could keep pants on during my ride. Previously all of my shorts/pants would fit more loosely at the end of a ride (probably not helped by the hip pack I was wearing at the time). 5/6/2025 3:08am I have the 10 speed MicroShift on my fat tire bike. I’ve tightened the clutch adjustment as much as I could, but still get way more chain slap than my Shimano group sets. As others have mentioned, it shifts well, but isn’t going to match offerings from Shimano or Stam for speed or smoothness.

My Son has the Advent X 10 speed on his MTB and it has been pretty reliable. Shifting under load can be a bit loud but it does happens. It is definitely not Shimano's hyperglide+ level of smooth but it is pretty good. The clutch is ok and not as good as Shimano or SRAM's offerings. They use a ratcheting clutch as opposed to roller bearing type so there can be a bit of free play. As a result, sometimes you get more chain slap and sometimes less depending on where the rachet is sitting relative to the 4 pawls...

Old person here. Rampage is too groomed.It's so 'mid' now. 90ft jumps are not the norm for pro's......not even the darkfest crew. I know some of the 'boyz'. Most of them are scared shitless. *You're The event is owned and run by RB. The diggers (some of the Dyfi crew) are contracted to build/maintain the course. Dh is a minority sport.....but that does'nt mean that there should be a high chance of death for a minor mistake. Wasn’t a fan of this feature before and definitely even less of a fan after seeing BK and Jim do it BK almost landed to far to the left and ran off the landing in that direction which looks like it would be disastrous. And the compression from the transition was enough to spit Jimbo off his bike. It’s just not a good feature, imo. Reminds me of Sam Reynolds (I believe it was) refusing to do a rampage run because they wouldn’t put up safety netting. They need netting on this.

I initially wondered what the rear fender was for, until I saw the studded tire(s) and the compressions he was experiencing. Made a LOT of sense after that.
