I’ve replaced the PF bottom bracket in my 2014 Pivot Les SEVERAL times and there does not seem to be any concerns with frame tolerances. Creaking has never been an issue either, as I apply a thin layer of silicone to the PF cup prior to installation. I also use a ‘C’ clamp to install (no extra $$ spent on tools). As with any bearing, go slow and make sure it is going in straight.

So many dumb takes yesterday on social media about "roadies who can't ride REAL mtb" and the like. Clearly he just made a mistake, it happens...even to the best. I think it would be really rad if more towns and cities invested in awesome, dedicated XCO courses like this. I feel like we've seen a lot build pumptracks and mini bike parks at trailheads, so this seems like the next evolution of that. It would sure help XC become popular in the US again. While I enjoy the big, backcountry XC racing that's been the preferred flavor for last decade...

We’re doing a bit more of it recently, we have a tester who helps out with XC gear (he shreds DH and Enduro too, as a side note). He’s not full time though so it’s a question of what we can get too. With increasing downcountry/XC/trail overlap it’s a relevant space for sure.

I love Vital because there isn’t a lot of unnecessary comments and the content is great. My only wish is they covered more XC (bike reviews, XCO WC race results, interviews/bike checks with XC folks, etc…) like Pinkbike. Believe it...

I'm encouraged by the consistency of the stated price increase (as much as I can be by rising prices), at least with these 3 brands. Companies could use this as an opportunity to price gouge consumers, but to me the consistency shows that isn't the case.

I was too. I have seen and read many single speeders used an oval chainring. Though some uses ebb and sliding dropouts, that is the same principles with a fixed dropped out after tightening the bolts. Just lucky to have a magic gear.

Flush mount that bolt! Even though it only sticks out a little, it still snags on things. This comes from my moto experience.

2/1/2021 1:30pm As an XC guy, I’m waiting for electronic suspension lockout for the masses. I know it’s been done before, but it was very limited. If Live Valve exists, a manual electronic lockout shouldn’t be that difficult.

Are pinch flats still that big of a concern with tubeless? I used to get them all of the time when I rode BMX with tubes, and my gravel bike with tubes once got a pinch flat, but I’ve never got one with a tubeless setup. Granted, I ride mostly XC and live in the midwest where the glaciers have made our rocks nice and round, but I run the lightest, thinnest sidewall tires (Specialized Fast Trak S-Works) with alloy rims, and have never pinch flatted. That being said, these new wheels look great and I wish I could afford...
