Great read. Now I finally understand the true meaning of "Mach chicken". No offense vital, but if you want to get more feedback on your story, you should put it on that other site. Somehow this is more of a video, podcast, forum discussion site.

That's an awesome story. The first time I crashed going really fast I was 14 and I was convinced I had just died.

Since this also is the "Innovation thread" I'd like to throw in a few small design-flaws that should have been addressed long ago. And because some penis enthusiasts are blocking my new-bike shipment, I'm pretty sure there is free capacitie in some head offices that might be reading along in here. I'll start with the 1.) rim-wheel-tragedy: I'm all for...

Regarding the new Levo - I see a whole lot of marketing but very little tech. What's the big deal? They went mullet. They stole forestals idea for an integrated display and made it work faster. Maybe the software that controls the power output is something really new. Nice - questions the whole idea of eBike racing - Muhahaha. Not...

@pivaot + fazua: damn - just when I lost hope that one of the bigger brands (besides lapierre) will jump on this very interesting concept and ordered myself a forrestal. On the upside, if pivot reveals a sub 18kg e-enduro I wouldn't be able to afford it anyway. Still highly interesting though!

You guys can't read a rule book! ;-) Rule states "rider" not bike (Finn..... it's ambiguous for a reason. Because somewhere in the wide world there's a keyboard warrior who moonlights as a UCI commissaire ready to DSQ all who breath. :-)

1. Let's stop playing the blame game with UCI. They're job is not to make money for the sport. They simply provide guidelines of qualification. They do not dictate business. 2. Everyone on every continent has the capacity to put on an event that is WELL funded, draws top riders AND can be BROADCAST delayed or live. 3. This is not pointing fingers at Windrock, the NW Cup, Snowshoe our Mtn. Creek, etc. It's pointing out that we have a serious crutch called RedBull TV. Every venue, every series, every promotion, every big race...they're responsible for raising their own money...

I once wrapped an aluminum frame (YT tues 2.0 first production year). It was my bikeparksled and I did a DIY-3M-Job and covered only exposed areas as downtube, bottom bracket, chainstays, as well as fork stanchions. The idea was to keep the frame and fork in good condition with resellvalue in mind. Now 7 years later i took the bike apart, resell value is unrelevant as its a 26er, and the result is this: - everywhere I haven´t had foliage i have a scratch or paint rub or something - everywhere I had a bigger impact on the frame the...

@sspomer and boris: great catch. Hahaa. So Sven and Wyn, what is it now? Front wheel inside the pole, backhweel outside the pole. Tape is intact though, and arguably he is with both wheels in the air. I say NONDQ, because of my points mentioned above. Had he broken the tape though... Why is there no UCI statement as of...
Heck yeah, Armchairracing at it's bet, here I come! After watching the video there are 4 things happening: 1. Angel rides over the pole with his frontwheel 2. His back wheel is kicked to the left and therefor the pole somehow exits under him on riders right while his back wheel is on the left of the poles point in...
the screen grab is kind of misleading. In the grab, I'd personally say hes still "inside the pole" the pole already being leaned over so far makes it a hard call. Are we calling the point in the ground the barrier, or the pole itself the barrier? His rear tire almost makes it over as well. So you could say he went left of the pole because of that, but he's also down hill of he pole when his tire "goes out". Putting him between the pole he hits and the next one down, meaning he left and came in...
