It shouldn't lose pressure in that time - and it's not something you use for tuning, so theres no need to access it easily. Constantly checking it would be more likely to make it start leaking if anything. Most companies use a shrunken valve to improve clearance in the frame by not having a valve stick out, and allowing a shorter reservoir length. The adapters are cheap so you can top it up with a shock pump before riding if you really want to, but screwing the pump on will make it drop a huge amount so its pointless "checking"...

It is not super common but there are a couple things that can cause this. Of course IFP pressure is set with air or nitrogen- many Rockshox just do air. Air molecules are smaller than Nitrogen and can escape through poruous rubber just like a tire. Nitrogen leaks slower (it is not the reason performance wise we use Nitro) than...

People will feel a lot of things if you prime them before they try them. EDIT: I have a friend who, whenever we're testing something new and he is the first to test, always says "you'll try it out yourself" when I ask him what it's like and when you get your turn, he asks what did you feel or think, not "did you feel x". Because he wants an unbiased feedback. Anywho, all this talk about kinematics is all well and good, but the first thing I though when I saw the bikes was "even if it works, who...

Can someone just plug it into linkage and put an end to this. You can't just keep adding more links and expect the fundamental concepts of linkage suspension to change. My theory is he's an owner of a bearing company and looking to increase sales via delicate subterfuge.

Now I want to solve bike design as much as the next guy but after that description of pedal kickback and finally watching the video, I gotta ask.. If it sounds like a cult leader, operates like a cult leader and looks like a cult leader. Is it a cult leader? Old mate is addicted to his one truth. I think the article and related comments are gonna age like milk.

Yeah clutch/spring force from the derailleur is next to nothing. It is noticeable though. However, I’ve definitely forgotten to hit the switch on a shimano derailleur after putting a wheel back on and the derailleur flying around is more noticeable than the extra bit of tug on the chain. Some of riding, especially at a higher level, is a bit of a head game so there is some argument that anything that’s annoying or distracting is worth trying to solve.

So I run the SB115 here as our shorter travel tester. Once I set it up- I love it. Corners with confidence and climbs very well. I am in my 50's and was never an awesome jump guy- always made my time on the ground LOL. I did extend the fork by 10mm with no issues. I have taken this...
Pretty interesting results. When it comes to suspension- determining what is right or wrong comes with a whole bottle of salt. One thing I have noticed in the MTB suspension industry vs. moto- Many MTB riders will ask for more travel from us to get "comfy". Many times, our answer is "let's optimise what you have" or set it up...
I don't want to post yet another hot take today but... It depends on what lens you're trying to look at all of this through. Vital skews HEAVILY gravity riding and arguably north america. Pinkbike is slightly more global and has a lot more XC talk. And yet, NEITHER are great representations of the MTBing community at large. Aka, when you drive out to a random trailhead and just start checking the average users. Not only are these enthusiast websites but statistically only the most enthusiast are bothering to vote in polls and stuff (I know I was unaware of...

That shit is hilarious. It's like the Mayor has never been to California, Utah, Colorado, or any of the other amazing states with massive peaks in all directions. I live in the middle of nowhere in California and we have multiple 5,000ft descents at our doorstep. It ain't even close, Arkansas.

Haven't heard anything- but maybe that will make Arkansas the "Mecca" for real like the Bentonville Mayor claims.

I tried to get some info out of Dak when we podcasted yesterday, but he was pretty tight lipped about everything. He still gave some insight into why he is running a TMD on the swingarm. It also sounds like he'll be adding one to his fork in the future.

Interesting that they specify the range of 22-26Hz as that is right around the frequency I have measured myself as being relevant. The wheels natural frequency is close to, or just under that point but most suspension systems are effective up to about 15Hz then taper down to 20Hz, most stop responding around there but good ones appear to still work up to near 30Hz. This is mostly friction and a little bit of hysteresis in the damper preventing it from changing direction that quickly. So there is a narrow window just above 20Hz where the tyres will be bouncing...

This is one thing I’ve been wondering about. To get say 1lb to have a natural frequency in the realm of braking bumps you need stupidly stiff springs. So stiff they are a little hard to find with meaningful amounts of deflection.

QUIK'R Racks- This is a small company- so service/help can always go really good or bad with companies like this. This case-not good, but FREAKIN AWESOME! I had the first little issue in over 3 years of ownership/daily driving on my truck. They responded to my email within 24 hours, and I have new parts coming (still under warranty!!!) in...
