Man you’re right! Due to the magic of the human body geo doesn’t matter we can just adapt! Lol cmon bro that’s bad logic. if that were true it would work the other way ie you can make a cs as long as you want and the rider will adapt (actually it does kinda work that way, see reviews for...

I'm on team long CS, and I ride mostly tighter, flatter, natural trails. The traction and confidence boost give me, as a 'fast dad' level rider, much more opportunity to push a bike hard through corners and force it through than rely on a bit less wheel base to negotiate a turn. New Ibis geometry is strange - I think we're seeing some fall out from designing one front triangle for multiple bikes. I never wanted a GG for exactly that reason, as much as I loved other aspects of those bikes.

I’d rather have traction any day. A couple centimeters doesn’t actually make it harder to get around a turn, and the overall traction you gain will make up for it many times over. I’ve been riding some of the tightest twistiest tracks and I find it’s only better now that I got a longer chainstay on the bike.

I would say it’s safe to assume that given that this is coming from a white paper, and how controlled the suspension is before and after the bump event, that this is from a controlled environment, maybe even on a test rig, not a rolling bicycle w/ rider on a trail. A repeatable test with as few variables as possible...

Can’t we infer that more travel used at a given speed means less impeded movement of the system? Aka for a given bump the wheel is getting further out of the way, which is sort of always been the goal right? Damping or ramping would impede the travel, and a byproduct of the impedance would be forces transmitted to the...

Youre not pigeonholed on anything! nothing, nada, people glomming onto misinformation, Super negative about a rear shock that can automatically change the size of the volume by its position in the stroke....That seems brilliant! A bike that appears to tick all the possible boxes that one could want from an "do everything" trail bike? Im disappointed in all of us here

ALSO: I feel like speci might have been trying to achieve in the shock what the cascade link was able to achieve with higher leverage and more progression. Also if I were speci I would account for cascade coming through with a link that will satisfy the riders that want more progression. I can focus on the majority who will...

Argument boils down to managing travel through spring rate or damping. Speci is saying that you can go light spring and light damping because of this psa thing in the genie. X2 will be crammed full of tokens which will negate the volume but yeah you’ll have a better damper (might as well be a float x.) But to allow...

My buddy runs his shock at like 35% sag. He HAS to be bottoming out that thing so hard, so often. I think a lot of folks either a) don’t mind the feeling of bottoming out constantly or b) don’t mind riding a harsh over-sprung shock. I’ll tell you that the people involved in making this bike are looking to...

Read the white paper. There is less time bottoming out and less major bottom out events claimed. What’s revolutionary about the shock isn’t how it’s feels for the 70%, like an Enduro, it’s how for that last 30% it doesn’t feel like a 145mm bike slamming into or riding at bottom out. I think this is one of those developments...

Like it or not, it’s the oldest mtb model still selling. On top of that, speci has a huge amount of money for r&d and a lot of folks look forward to see what they come up with. Mainstream-wise, they kinda set the pace for the other big brands. And finally, the stumpy and stumpy Evo have been pretty consistently...

Everyone has assumed no more stumpy Evo but I think they’re keeping it hush until Charlie and co. stop winning on it and thus, selling more bikes. SteVo was the most overstocked bike they had last year, and if they can clear out a bit more inventory before announcing a new SteVo they will be a lot happier than the...
