Part of me is skeptical, not having heard anything from any other sources. Part of me is disappointed if it's true (especially if they were re-working the take off). Part of me is relieved because I don't want to see anyone hurt and weather/wind always plays such a big factor in whether or not the event actually takes place. If...
I'd buy property in places I want to ride (Squamish, Revelstoke, somewhere in Europe, etc) and host friends whenever they want to come out. Donate tons to different trail organizations and non-profits that promote cycling and make access easier to low-income and marginalized communities. Ride when/where I want. Maybe push the limits of N+1, but give so many bikes away...
Change of plans. Went into the shop to get Domain's, but they had a set of Lewis (yes, the sort of Trickstuff knockoffs) brakes, so I'm going to give them a try. My shop brought them in because they were curious, but wanted someone who can put them through their paces. I'm 6'4 and 120kg and a half decent rider...
Hayes is having a 20% off sale, so I'm getting Dominions. Was going to order from their site, but my LBS price matched, so stoked about that (don't have to deal with shipping, duty, etc). Once I have a bit of time on them, I'll make sure to do a good review for all the clydes out there. Ha ha

So far, I haven't been super upset with things, but I'm also not paying for it (watching with friends who have). My thoughts are: 1. Scrap semi's. What's the point if it's not being broadcast or streamed? 2. I'm mostly okay with top 30 men, but would be alright with bumping it up a bit. I don't think we need...
I don't want to derail this into a "what brake should I get" thread, but also, what brake should I get? My past three bikes I went from Avid something (pre-SRAM) and they were not great. Then Shimano Zee's and now Shimano SLX 4-pots with Galfer wave rotors (220/200) and (usually) Galfer pads on a RM Slayer 29. They've been...

A very attractive bicycle, with a sensible Min-Max build, plus a little treat on the fork for us olds. Chapeau!

I ordered them almost as soon as I ordered the Zeb and swapped them out before the fork was on the bike! Ha ha

Sorry, maybe I should have made it clearer. "Sunday league" football is amateur players, your typical enthusiast footballer who's a plumber, van driver, teacher or whatever by day. Some decent players but in no way a commercial proposition. So I'd say a fair comparison, if not more favourable to the rider. As an additional aside, as a midpack journeyman enduro racer pre-EWS, racing around my day job, I managed to sell enough sponsorship to get the cash to race in Europe, on top of the bike and gear deals I did for myself. So yeah, I know first hand it...
