6/7/2015 1:26pm A few interesting facts I like to nerd about: - This is Minnaar's first world cup win in 3 years. His last win was at the 2012 season opener in Pietermaritzburg. - Martin Maes' qualifying speedtrap was by far the fastest of the day (all categories combined), with a whopping 66kph. In case you're still doubting his massive balls an skillset, the speedtrap is located right before an enormous wide berm which must have been covered in mud. - The men's qualifying and finals fastest first splits were achieved by respectively Sam Dale and Matt Simmonds, 2 of the biggest...

vics26 Liked a product review Loads of Protection with Comfort in Mind
5/13/2015 1:21pm
Iuse knee only pads for most of my riding, but after a couple of trips to the mountains and some sketchy rock gardens I decided to purchase the Race Face Flank knee/shin pads. The pads offer tons of protection to the whole leg but at the same time come with a lot of comfort as they are made from d3o compound that is initially soft and then hardens and protects when impacted. The Flank pads offer a lot of adjustabilityand once put on they reallyaren'tvery noticeable. They also stay comfortable throughout a whole day of riding and even after...

by Andy Holloway The Race Face Flank Leg Guards aren't new on the scene, they were first introduced back in 2010 and three years later the same basic design is still going strong. With a few years of feedback under their belt, the Race Face crew have made further improvements to material and construction for 2013. The core concept remains the same, with open-back construction for ease of removal and D3O pads for protection, in a full-length design that extends well down onto the shins. We were eager to get these on the trail to see what the improvements would...

Ian Collins Liked a product review Tested: Scott Grenade Pro II Knee Guards
5/13/2015 1:18pm
by Ian Collins After three massive (bones visible) holes in the same square inch of my right knee over the last decade, I became a bit wary of most of the run-of-the-mill kneepads I've tried. Last year I saw some pictures of the Scott Grenade Pro II Knee Gaurds and they looked promising. Nothing way out of the ordinary, but a few refinements, techy features and a moderately higher price tag of $139.95 gave it a greater luster than most of the pedestrian offerings. Over the winter I got to check them out in person while trying to keep Brendog...

4/16/2015 1:53pm Love the slideshow and interview format. The interview interview with Gee was great. It was interesting hearing him describe the process of deciding to strap his hand to the bar like Minnaar. And mad props to both of them for their dedication! Impressive in both cases, but Greg placing 22nd is something else!

If he was knocked unconscious, or even concussed, he would most definitely not be racing.
