Hey, thought I’d clear up the fair question you asked here! I’m not into racing enduro anymore or heavily focusing on being competitive and haven’t been for a couple years now. I’ve been racing since I was 11 years old and I got tired of it. I’m enjoying competing now and then In different events but focusing on travelling to cool locations and filming & riding with new people and friends and sharing my experiences and working alongside my sponsors. Change has been good and I’ve found my feet doing this. Cheers Lew

Well said. A few years ago I got 5th at US Nationals and qualified for my first World Cup. I now work my ass off as a traveling nurse- often on call and overtime and get usually get up at 5 am, train, and then go work a 10 hr shift. Not at a desk. In surgery. Lifting more heavy things. Running down hallways. All so I can can afford to fly myself to any World Cups I’m able to qualify for. Where I am my own driver/mechanics/chef/trainer/mental coach/unexpected catastrophe solver. Life as a privateer is HARD WORK. Thank you...

1. Let's stop playing the blame game with UCI. They're job is not to make money for the sport. They simply provide guidelines of qualification. They do not dictate business. 2. Everyone on every continent has the capacity to put on an event that is WELL funded, draws top riders AND can be BROADCAST delayed or live. 3. This is not pointing fingers at Windrock, the NW Cup, Snowshoe our Mtn. Creek, etc. It's pointing out that we have a serious crutch called RedBull TV. Every venue, every series, every promotion, every big race...they're responsible for raising their own money...

With talk about Danny doing his own thing/team and Athertons buying a defunct company to start their own brand and Gwin basically investing in Intense, could we see someone setting up a team with non-frame-related sponsor (gear and outside sponsors) with a relatively big budget and get someone to design and build a bunch of one-off, proto style bikes and make dunno, a new frame specifically for each track or like Nico used to do it, designed around the world champs track? cooper webb couldn't try to qualify at a WC unless he had enough UCI points. those are earned by placing well enough at local/regional/national races that offer UCI points. no different to any other mountain bike racer wanting to race WC. their was the loophole a few years ago where you and your crew could pay enough to create a WC team, get licenses and race. changing topics (sort of), i'd love it if there were open qualifiers before world cup DH races. tuesday open practice for punters, weds open qualifiers, top 3 get a chance to qualify with the...

Boom - that was intense. I always thought that Loic did this only to also have a video series like Finn's got with "Fast Life". But this time I really saw two competitors speaking out what exists maybe silently between them, but in an honest and respectful manner. Therefore I also think the format with its "closed" almost intimate setup is chosen smart. I don't think I've seen anything comparable in any other sport. The athletes in this sport really sculpt the way it's perceived way more than in other sports. It's a great ime to be a superfan

Meh, max grip is so tacky the tires don’t last worth a damn. The difference between them and terra is negligible really. There’s a reason they don’t make many options in them.
