philpix Liked a product review YT Capra Comp1

Iwent for the Comp1 and not the Pro. One I don't like white bikes but two the Boss forks and shock are not easy to set up and also service centres are few in the UK. The Pike forks and Monarch shock work sweetly. Sizing is a problem buying online. As mentioned this bike is a game-changer.

bturman Liked a product review First Look, First Ride: 2015 Giant Reign 27.5

8/3/2014 9:19am
Review by Brandon Turman // Photos by Sterling Lorence After over two years of development, testing, and fine tuning, the Giant Reign 27.5 is finally here. While Giant may have begun their 27.5 quest with a prototype Reign, it’s the last to hit the market. Why did it take so long? Giant says they were busy trying to make the best bike possible, and that took time. The bike is redesigned from the ground up for 27.5-inch wheels. It’s longer, lower, and slacker than ever before, making the 6.3-inch (160mm) travel bike even more capable. For 2015, Giant will offer...

bturman Liked a product review 2014 Test Sessions: Lapierre Zesty AM 527

5/29/2014 3:02pm
Reviewed by John Hauer and Jess Pedersen // Photos by Shawn Spomer and Lear Miller Lapierre’s Zesty AM ticks many of the boxes for an aggressive all-mountain bike: it has great geometry, a good looking list of components, a carbon frameset, and 150mm of travel at a reasonable price. It also has an interesting “Electronic Intelligence” rear shock, known as the E:i system. “There’s no place for electronics in mountain biking,” some of you will say, while others may be open to new ideas and technology. With an open mind and nothing but miles of rough Sedona, Arizona trails in...

Sorry Fox, but after my experience with you over the years I'd rather spend my money somewhere else. X-fusion maybe? or wait for a revamped Lyric with the new charger damper...

bturman Liked a product review Tested: All-New 2014 Intense Tracer T275 Carbon

3/26/2014 6:03am
Review by Brandon Turman // Photos by Tim Bardsley-Smith and Intense Cycles On January 14, journalists from the World’s leading mountain bike media outlets gathered in Temecula, California for a special event touted as the “Intense Experience.” As we admired Shaun Palmer’s 1996 World Champs M1 downhill bike, shook hands with skilled machinists, chatted about the next day’s ride over beers, and at last sat down for the big unveiling, we honestly didn’t have much of an idea of what was in store. Then Jeff Steber took the stage. Behind the podium, Jeff recounted founding Intense Cycles back in 1991...

bturman Liked a product review 2014 Test Sessions: GT Sensor Carbon Pro

3/14/2014 9:04am
Reviewed by Evan Turpen, Steve Wentz and Brandon Turman // Photos by Shawn Spomer and Lear Miller With 130mm of travel and a very unique suspension design, the all-new GT Sensor aims to tackle the trail market and is Hans Rey's go to ride. Everything from the headtube to the dropouts has been re-worked from the Sensor of old. Gone is the high bottom bracket and short top tube, in is more modern geometry, 27.5-inch wheels, and a roomy cockpit. Curious to see how the changes impact the ride, we pounded out several miles aboard the Sensor Carbon Pro during...

Reviewed by Matt Thompson, Steve Wentz, Jess Pedersen, & Brandon Turman // Photos by Shawn Spomer & Brandon Turman Founded in 1981 in Scot Nicol's garage, Ibis Cycles has a long and rich history in mountain biking, even though they've had to overcome a few bumps along the way. Throughout the years they've developed a number of bikes that are seen as iconic - innovation in the sport and often a welcome breath of fresh air amidst lots of marketing hype. They're a company that builds what they want to ride, and in 2006, that was the Ibis Mojo Carbon...
