In Northern California theyre everywhere. More than regular bikes. A majority of them are people riding them that could/should be riding a normal bike. We see the often 50+ year which is cool. But it makes me think “JFC” seeing more 20-30 year olds on them. They are most definitely not using at a training tool going stupid fast on...

A 36/Lyrik DC would be the holy grail... bar spins are overrated.

Go and look at motorcycle enduro, which now has 2 World Championships - EnduroGP, and the newer series Hard Enduro. The current MTB version of enduro is basically multi stage Downhill.....not what enduro should be about. It should be a mix of uphill, downhill, and an 'all round' test of a MTB rider.... Have 3 stages, and run them twice with a break in the middle for lunch, servicing - similar to WRC.

That's sorta what xce (xc eliminator) started off as before it was turned into urban mtb short track 4x. The descents weren't as gnarly but it had potential.

Short course enduro laps? So like, extreme cyclocross? Because that's surprisingly fun to watch. I could get behind it.

We had this for a few years in Southern France: https://www.pinkbike.com/news/the-future-of-xc-xmb-challenge-aspremont… They called it "cross moutain bike", basically looping around a course which would feature 2-3 enduro segments featured in a separate enduro race another weekend and brutal climbs that often involved hike a bike for the amateurs. The best bike would be a 120 to 140mm full suspension trail bike, but choosing tyres was a nightmare. It didn't really catch on, they rarely got more than 100 riders, usually half that, while the enduro races were pulling 300 at the time. It was just too brutal and unenjoyable all...

We all know Enduro is kind of dwindling in company support due to one of the primary problems being that it gets very little coverage compared to XC and DH races, so why not make a hybrid category? A format that is an XC race but with really gnarly downhills. Where the uphill climbing is not as redlined because you...

Its actually so cool to see XC evolving to be more aggressive in all fronts of riding. Not just climbing and efficiency. Hell, make tracks a little more crazy and itll be like watching massive 4X races. Id watch that live.

So just to reiterate and have absolute clarification, you can or cannot run a 27.5 wheel with a WRP yoke, and a CC link? Because I had a Evo and thought its a great bike. Up until I mulleted it. The LBS I bought it from thought I was being crazy that it lost its progressiveness especially since the ad...

Optic is typically 125/140, and the Sight is 150/160. Trail and all-mountain… Historically, their weights haven’t been too far off from each other. Frame weight especially. I can’t speak to the new models though. I’ve seen pictures only.

Ah, actually yeah for 125mm I would not be okay with 34lb unless it had some tricks in its hat. Sorry, I honestly do not know Norcos lineup that well. Thought this was their all mountain bike.

I mean, depends really on tires and if they installed inserts. The highest spec Devinci Troy with double down is 33.77lb (15.32kg for non freedom unit lovers). That bike has XT and ARC30 wheels. In my opinion if it has heavy duty tires and decent build, 34 is not that unreasonable.
