Question. I have some Shimano Deore M6120's installed on my bike currently. I really really dislike the feel of those levers, ive had them of a couple of my bikes and it always feels like i gotta pull the lever to the grip to get full power. I dont really mind the functionality of them, i just dislike how far...

There is a rumor floating around the interwebs that the Orbea Rallon will be released with an Avinox motor in April. If that is true, they will get my money!

So I pulled the trigger on that Transition regulator SX. It was a demo bike so it had a few miles on it (fine by me for the price). I went for my first ride on it, very brief before it started snowing again fml. But i noticed a noise and have no idea if its normal or not. On...

Why aren't there any E-Downhill bikes? I'd imagine there is a market for something like that. DH bikes benefit from being a bit heavier, they suck to pedal, are restricted to lift access or shuttle riding only. Slapping a motor on it would eliminate most of the reasons the average consumer doesn't own one, wouldn't it? Dual crown max travel...

The process can be the difference in price. I believe that the chromag bza is machined and finished in Canada. The HiFi is forged in Taiwan

In those specific instances as people have said, polishing and anodizing multiple colors vs. bead blasted black. More steps=more money. It can also come down to steps you can't even see. 3d vs. 2d forging. full CNC, just adding a machining pass pre or post ano, etc. Laser graphics vs. decal. All these little steps add up on the price of anything. They can be integral to getting what you want out a product, and are never actually seen. Plays into that damper discussion as well. Bars are another thing where unseen tech can play into the price of a...

One is bead blasted then anodized the other one is polished when anodized. The bead blast is going to be a much cheaper and more forgiving process. Quality polish is going to be hand work. This a price difference.

Let's not rewrite history, virtually everyone I know with a gen 3 levo that rides hard needed to replace the motor every 6 months. Bosch have not been hassle free, but it was mostly motor and battery mount issues rather than full motor replacement.

It seems to be a really loved bike. As for the reliability, i think as a whole e-bikes have a ways to go in that department. I recall an article about a poll that claimed 1 in 4 ebike riders end up having some sort of electric component issue inside the 2 year warranty window. That being said, for the...

dang thanks a ton for this info, very helpful! I do believe specialized dealers will honor warranty but i cant imagine itd be quite as solid and easy as the actual shop i purchased it from.

This isnt something that is always an issue, but there have been occasions where I have ran into component prices that make me scratch my head. One area I notice this the most is with MTB stems - they are almost all damn near identical in function and form. What makes one $300 and another $60? Is it really all...

Ah they were demo bikes last season haha. I doubt any shop would let me demo right now where I live (snow and ice on the trails). I did find a turbo levo 3 that I'm now considering. It's not from a local shop though... So I'm not sure how nice not having the LBS warranty experience would be. Considered...

havent really found any decent prices for full power bikes, best options are things like the turbo levo - none with a bosch motor. Also not sure i wanna go for a heavy full power e-bike. I mostly just want a bike thatll take me up fire roads so i can get more descent laps in a day, having it...

So both are demo bikes, a transition regulator and a mondraker dune R. Both have the exact same motor+battery combo, almost the same weight, i think the mondraker might be a pound or two heavier. Build spec is different but in terms of quality its very close, just different brands. The transition is 150 rear 160 fork, mondraker is 165...

Im about to buy my first e-bike... im really struggling to make the choice between two though. It is boiling down to long vs short travel. Both are about the same weight, have the same motor and battery. One is a full on enduro 170mm travel, the other is a 140mm rear 150mm front. Im kind of leaning towards the...

Not sure if this is the right spot to ask this. But I am rather new to higher end brakes, and just got a set of hope tech 4 v4's installed. I have only rode them a couple times when we had some nice weather, as i installed them during the winter in canada. Recently i have noticed they are...
