Crazy that they wanted him to pay for his jersey. I am pretty sure they made Stevie pay 60 bucks for his jersey in 2010 at MSA. What a well spoken guy, nice to see him have a chat with the WC. I agree about Sam, he use to go balls out in DH but family changes things.

@dig-with-Al Dude, not saying that they should stop working, but Megavalanche is longer than most people( or at least me) will ever descend. Very interesting about the boiling point though. I have some friends that use different fluids for certain races like that. Of coarse the brake companies never like that. 250lb rider weight is pretty considerable on long descents also. I’m glad the Shimano’s work for you though. Plenty of my friends like them. But plenty of them don’t. Like any brake. I happen to love the hc3 levers, but that’s preference for sure. I hope to do megavalanche...

I've got 2 conflicting views here. Had a really bad experience last year racing the MT7s on the megavalanche. Virtually no braking from halfway down, completely cooked them. I only found out later the magura mineral oil has a boiling point of 120 degC! The levers are also terrible and I had them all including the hc3s. You actually lose some mechanical advantage with the hc3s too. With the shimanos the problem is with the viscosity of the mineral oil and the small master cylinder port. The oil simply can not return fast enough hence the variable bite point. Use...

Both are adjustable, both are comfortable, but I still like the MT7s better. They are nothing but consistent, where the bite point wanders a bit on the XTR. Magura has a bunch of different leavers you can buy to dial in the fit as well. The XTRs stock levers are actually really nice though. For me MT7 for sure.
