More like I finally have the option of a downhill bike so I want to see what all the hype is about. I am plenty happy with Enduro and from what I've heard internally, contrary to rumours, Enduro isn't going anywhere. But just wait till you see my latest bike, new year new me.

It seems to me that there's a lack of proper journalism in mountain biking i.e. who's asking ESO, Discovery etc the difficult questions given what Discovery's investment was supposed to bring to EWS.

Anyone besides me think that the performance note in Bex's post is to imply that Yeti found a way to get out of her contract by essentially making something up? Like perhaps she had bonuses that she was entitled to or an automatic renewal of her contract if they didn't find fault in her. Pointing that part out makes it sound like she had to be fired for cause or her contract would auto renew so they just made it up because the standard wasn't specifically stated as a ranking # in the contract and Contract language was intentionally vague...

In other Frameworks news, Neko confirmed, on the Downtime podcast, that Martin Whitely will be actually managing the Frameworks team this year (last year, he was more of a consultant with Neko managing).

There is outside money... in Europe... and in XC. Notice how many top XC, mostly Euro, riders have sponsor logos that North American's have never heard of? Obviously, Nino is a bit of an exception, but he has "Corner Card" at the front of his helmet along with numerous others. I've heard he even has a chocolate sponsor. The man was/is deep into the 7 figure mark. Kate Courtney's Redbull helmet is worth substantially more than the average DH rider annually. How many DH/Enduro riders do you see being sponsored by car dealerships? It pales in comparison to the XC...

We can turn our noses up all we want, but this would be a good omen for racing. We really need non-bike industry sponsors with stable cash flows. No one argues that the next couple years are going to be brutal for marketing budgets and sponsored riders. We need to see car companies, healthcare, tech, etc. coming in as sponsors, it's really the only way forward. This has always been the case but 10X more starting... right now. It's odd that we haven't seen healthcare more. It's perfect. We have lower lifetime healthcare costs as riders, but fund their high...

Jordie having "less" to do with Dak has more to do with how involved a rider's mechanic is in the tuning process. There are entire teams sponsored by Fox that you barely ever see talking with Jordie because they work on that stuff with their teammates and/or mechanics/staff. The telemetry equipment on forks/shocks isn't usually branded "FOX" on it.
