This year does seem low key so far, doesn't feel less than 2 weeks away. The boneyard is looking good but definitely not its usual self, lots of empty space and no hydroseed green grass around, it has been pretty dry though. I raced Garbo DH last year and this year it's been cancelled, so maybe I'm not as hyped...

Interesting the 1.8mm rotors have a 1.5mm minimum thickness and the new 2.2mm still have a 1.5mm minimum also. I replaced an old Shimano rotor on my wife's bike today, no way was it near 1.5mm but is was pretty concave, makes it hard to bed in a new set of pads to match the rotor profile. A 2.2 rotor...

Ever since I started removing the outer bearing seal, whichever one is accessible after removing the axle, and packing as much grease in as possible and putting the seal back on, I've had bearing last for ages. My forbidden dreadnought is on Whistler season #4 and they all still feel new. Off the shelf bearings are mostly designed to spin...

Also, FWIW, Minnaar was testing what appeared to be a clutchless/dual-spring proto last fall. As seen here: https://theloamwolf.com/news/spotted-greg-minnaars-norco-with-prototype… Certainly looks like Shimano is leaning that direction, which is interesting given the negative reports about chain slap on the new XT/XTR derailleurs.
