Few thoughts here, being this is something I often think about. First, I agree that most technology changes in big jumps followed by long periods of optimization. I can point at all sorts of things, such as the jet engine to showcase this type of pattern. That said, what I am really saying as its applied to bicycles is very simple - I no longer am compelled to buy a new bike every 12-24 months for me to find any incremental improvement when it comes to going faster or going faster more consistently. I've observed this phenomonia since about 2019/2020...

Okay I hate proprietary stuff as much as the next guy but this shock is not proprietary, its a normal stroke and eye to eye shock you can put any other shock in its place. If you were going to say anything is proprietary on this bike its the drivetrain more than the shock, it can only be replaced with other wireless drivetrains from Sram. If anything is representative of the mountain bike industry its moving to wireless drivetrains exclusively, lets take a system that has worked great with a 25 cent cable and replace it with a wireless battery...

Translation: Delivery time: Available from June 8th, 2024. First EWS is May 10-12 so it will for sure have to break cover there under Murray (I'm sure there will be spy shots before). New Enduro was supposed to be out before the new Stumpy, but as I've said a few times, they went back to the drawing board to copy the prototype Demo so it got delayed.

New 2025 Stumpy (a couple of versions – Comp, Exper, Pro including Ohlins build) sort of leaked on one website, but no photos yet.

Not a rumour but I spotted this outside the Marks Work Warehouse in Squamish last week. I haven’t been following closely but I’m assuming this is the team kit with trp and crankbrothers. Also had an unlabelled Maxxis tire on the front that I had not seen before (might be old news though).

I think he got better towards the end of the year. Cedric was the worst of the commenting IMO. Ric did a really good job a few years ago doing the EWS highlight videos. Seems like he is the guy in the booth moving forward so hopefully he keeps improving.

I agree, he's just in a unique position right now. I believe he thought that in order to compete with Bruni on specialized, he need a big name bike company to back him up as well and Trek needs him really bad too. BUT he forgot to factor in that Bruni fought for the ability to run whatever parts he wants on his demo. Trek makes him run the parts THEY want him to run, hopefully he can figure things out moving forwards to be more competitive with Bruni and Jackson....cuz when that guy is on he is amazing to...

I'm pretty certain loris resigned for 2 years with trek. I think trek makes loris super boring...but his boring is a lot faster than mine.

I think I speak for most people when I say we just want to see him happy and hauling down a fast downhill track, regardless of results, but sadly that's not how World Cup downhill always works, so fingers crossed for the Bulldog, especially after one of the most horrible crashes we've seen at a World Cup in recent times, and the very very impressive recovery that has followed

Hart to Nukeproof makes sense with the Adam Brayton connection as well. Nukeproof seems to be staying with Brayton for 2024. https://www.instagram.com/p/C1hmkrVN7qf/

I don't think anyone has pointed this out yet: YT has dropped a bunch of their influence-thletes, the thought is to pay for Vali, Could it also be for Mr. Bomba and Party Boi? I dont believe enduro is going away anytime soon, even if it looses it's WB-Disc viewership. The fact is the bulk of us riders are on bikes which we pedal up and down. Given that thought it would, to me, make sense to still have a presence in enduro for YT. Bring on the YT MOB SQUAD!! Live life unblazzed!

Greg - On Norco for a couple of years of racing/frame development and maybe then as team manager. Since Norco is owned by Live to Play Sports, then you can expect him to be majorly supplied by the distributed brands they sell. They are deeply invested into SRAM/RS so I'd be very surprised to see him stick with Fox/Shimano. Those are my predictions.

Oh, but I beg to differ! I was on the hill that day in Champery and it was a very very special moment. I yelled my lungs out and could not believe my eyes and neither could the vast majority of the people on location. Of course, the Freecaster commentary of Rob and Nigel shaped it for posterity, but it's superficial to suggest that Danny owes his career just to that broadcast and that's that. Come on! Danny was a prodigy riding the UK scene for Balfa/Appalache and then delivered everything his talent promised as a kid. Not only spectacular...

I beg to differ. If it works well for pro riders it´ll work pretty good for the average Joey as well, ofc. a downhill racers setup differs, but most already uses custom linkages and frames.

Personally from what I have seen the quality is hit and miss. If it was assembled right, performance is fine and will do most everything a Zeb or 38 can. Maybe not better, but it's something you can trust. As far as Aston goes, even when he's right he sounds like a crying baby. "If DVO doesn't like this article send me $4000 worth of suspension for no charge, I'll keep one after testing it and sell the other"
