helmuthhollerer Added a comment about feature Vital MTB Test Sessions - Lightweight 'SL' E-Bikes

I´m still amazed that my Forestal Syrion hit´s above all the competitiors. It´s a 170mm Enduro blaster, as light as the Levo SL has the power of the midpack Fazua and with 350Wh not the least battery capacity. With the exception of the not so light Moterra SL it´s the lowest priced with comparable components (not going to say cheap at 9,7 grand). What´s crazy is, it´s been on the market for 2 years now, and the competition hasn´t caught up. It´s a niché brand though.

The adverse publicity just from the allegation may have been enough for them to let him go. I would have thought he would've been charged by now if the police (and the prosecution service) believed there was a case, seeing as this goes all the way back to last summer. From what I've seen he hasn't been, although I don't know if laws on confidentiality are different in France to the UK. I say this because a guy I know was falsely accused of rape, was charged and named by the press within a couple of weeks of the accusation...

We did this before, main-stream....winter x-games snow biking. Wasn't a hit then...but, maybe with climate change the mountains are getting more snow these days, or not.

40 year old, converted ebike hater here. One day my wife told me, that she thought about getting an ebike to enable us to ride together, but smart as she was she let me choose the bike. Got an 19kg 170mm Enduro light ebike and never looked back. Rides amazingly similar to my regular bikes plus I can do quick...

Came here to share that and saw that somebody disregarded it as grandfather's contract and so on. I don't think that's just disrespectful, but it's also missing the point. The man is sponsored almost his whole adult life and complete professional career by the same brand and just enleghtend gis contract, all while the industry is in awe about stormy...

I wonder how ESO/WBD plan to get more venues, while at the same time, they want to the disciplines to become more professional? Looking back at the EWS, it appears the boom a couple years back was fostered due to the nonprofessionalism of the sport, aka the spirit of Enduro. And thereby I mean freedom to have multi-day events, more...

My thought is that those who had their contracts expire this year are having a tough time reconciling their worth against others who signed at peak market insanity. In all likelihood, Bex and Danny fall into this camp. They won’t be able to secure a ride if they are expecting the same salary as someone, on par with their results and marketability, who signed in 2022, say. They will need to make concessions which may hurt the ego but will be the way, going forward.

I full well know that it is a far better ROI to sponsor “influencers” over actual racers, and I know the industry has been and will continue to throw more money that way, but I’m still allowed to hate it. I get so bummed seeing sponsorship dollars flung at Instagram riders making average, run of the mill, background noise content for 10k plus people, than going to someone pouring their heart and soul into hours of training, riding, and generally busting their ass in search of chasing the dream and putting up results that at best, a few thousand will...

From the (MS-)man hinself: "... it's just a split with mondraker that's official, but probably we're not done racing yet...would be possible without us, but not as much fun"

I went to 1x11 from 1x12. Gear range is no issue. I did it for a couple of causes, one being weight savings, wich was stupid in hindsight. I see a benefit in less wear and probably smoother shifting the smaller the cog-teeth-gaps are. I also use steel cassettes and chain rings for that reason.

I was just in Bentonville, Arkansas this past weekend. The self proclaimed "Mountain Bike Capital of the World". The mix on the trails was about 80% E-Bike. And to be fair an E-bike is absolutely the right tool for the job for the majority of the trail hubs. The industry sees the writing on the wall. Long travel bikes without motors are a terrible purchase for almost anyone, but a motor bike with a 170mm Coil and 180mm up front and you have a party machine that can get you anywhere. There will always be bicycles for those who enjoy...
