I get that but at the same time, if someone doesn't have enough health insurance to cover injuries without suing the freaking park and ruining everything for everyone, they don't need to be there in the first place. There is no good reason for any of this kind of shit. Its just stupid.

One of my favorite places when I lived in Oregon. Real shame. Ultimately I’m a firm believer that a rider is responsible for their decisions regardless of the quality of trail. But with price of health care and the weak social programs this country has to offer people like the rider I can’t blame them too much for seeking compensation either. Hopefully they can address their liability issues and find a way to reopen.

Nice effort on that bike! While I'm the first to suggest "more travel" for the less-than-real pros out there, I do feel 200mm+ is a bridge too far, at least in North America. What you gain in forgiveness and your ability to take the straight line just about anywhere, you give up in finding speed through pumping terrain features. Plus, with that much travel, doubling certain features can be a challenge. Out of saddle sprinting efforts, too, are penalized. All that said, depending on your style it may just be the ticket! As I've blabbered about in the past, for...

LTrumpore Liked a comment about Press Release Tioga Introduces the Edge 22 - A Front Tire With Double The Cornering Bite

Interesting idea but I’d be curious to know how it rides without center knobs. As I front tire it has to handle steering duties as well as cornering, and when weighted could end up riding on the side knobs since there is no tread down the middle. It’ll be interesting to hear to what degree this might affect steering response/control and rolling resistance. Good to see a design that dares try something new instead of mimicking what’s already out there.

Defining the new Nomad left me scratching my head for words. Most everything I wrote sounded like a cliché directly from the 2009 Handbook for Mountain Bike Journalists. "A trail bike that descends like a downhill bike." "A mini-DH bike that can pedal." Yeah, they've both been used ad-nauseam... The ultimate irony to my cliché-laden articulation strugglefest is that the new Nomad is anything but cliché. At a time when most companies seem to be chasing the perfect mid-travel trail bike or eeking every millisecond out of an enduro race bike, Santa Cruz’s latest Nomad iteration seems to be built...

Ireally want to love this post, it checks all my boxes. 200mm of drop, mechanical cable actuation, microadjust saddle angle, and the ability to remove the saddle without losing the angle setting. Unfortunately my post has been plagued by problems from the start. After the first ride it had leaked down to nothing in the air spring. A couple rides later the brake started slipping and a "brake reset" did not remedy the issue. I was forced to disassemble the post to clean contamination off the brake and out of the air chamber. A few rides later the brake...

Lance and Chris Canfield began their journey as frame builders in the late nineties after feeling their needs weren’t being met by frame options at the time. Since the glory days aboard their 12-inch travel Big Fat Fatty Fat they’ve been coming up with their own interpretation of what mountain bikes should be. In 2011, Canfield Brothers launched their first 29-inch-wheeled bike, the Yelli Screamy, which was among the first wagon-wheeled bikes with sub-17-inch chainstays. Just a few years later, they launched their first dual-suspension wagon wheeler called the Riot, which also featured radically short 16.3-inch chainstays. The Riot features...
