11/19/2024 6:50am Actually very similar to the approach that Downamics talks about using in their Instagram post above. We recorded data from a range of different rides on varying bikes and trails. Merged the data and cleaned it up a little. We used a fast Fourier transform to order the data in a most to least occurrences fashion. Drew conclusions from this and then selected a specific trail that had a range of different speeds, features and conditions in one lap, the kind that, if you were to set up your suspension on, it would yield a solid ball park set up...

11/17/2024 9:06am I respect your hill but as the owner of a full 29, 29/27.5 mullet, full 27.5, and a 27.5/26 mullet, I can confirm that switching between each brings a whole lot more fun into my life than pigeon-holing myself into only riding wagon wheels. To each their own!

11/17/2024 5:41am I just got a set to see whether the hype is real, but first ride went down and messed up my shoulder. I added 4 PSI more to Trail/Gravity from what I was running with Conti DH to get it to deform similarly in the garage. I'll give them another try once I heal up but I'm honestly kind of skeptical - I feel like the higher pressure and more rounded profile contributed to me losing grip on the front end.

11/15/2024 11:24am So there’s evidence people have been looking at, thinking about, measuring and comparing bike component compliance for years. And there’s evidence that some component and system (for example, a wheel) makers have been doing the same. But instead of helping to create basic language and tools riders could use to compare compliance as one more factor to consider alongside all the other bike fit and performance details, every company is mining the compliance boom in the same way. Our new gen widget is more compliant (but not too compliant!) than our previous gen widget. Start tuning your ride today! Marketing...

11/14/2024 6:24pm I’ve been running nothing but DH super soft Kryptotal FR / Xynotal and have started to question if the casing is too stiff for me during harder riding. Over 16psi and the ride quality noticeably diminishes. I’m thinking of trying out these new Schwalbe radials. Magic Mary gravity super soft / Albert gravity soft front and rear respectively. Hoping it...

11/12/2024 6:39am Been experimenting with larger grips as opposed to smaller ones and notice they’re easier to grip as OD increases. I have smaller than average hands so I have doubts we’re really addressing this problem correctly.

10/29/2024 8:48pm Some real strange testing protocols, the main one being testing Hayes with semi-metallic, Shimano with resin and the rest with metallic. You'd think you'd go through all that trouble of using Brake-Ace to draw measurable comparisons you'd at the least run the same ballpark compound (Hayes even includes metallic pads in the box, Shimano metallic pads are easily had). Ideally you'd have just gotten a pair Galfer/Sinter/MTX pads for all brakes where possible. Not sure how the Hayes brakes gets a 7 for bleed procedure. It has literally the same bleed procedure as SRAM (to the point where I use...
