I owned a 951 and it was the best DH bike I ever rode. Bought it new in 2010 and raced it hard (cat 1) all over the state plus trips up to Oregon hitting Black Rock. I have NEVER seen one of these brake. I put a small ding in the rear arm but it was still race ready when I sold it. Watch a video on how Intense makes their frames they have been heat treating aluminum for a long time. Big bird is right about one thing, they are noisy. I never tried a type 2/stealth derailleur...

9/23/2013 2:22pm and which comments about medium wheels in the slideshow had to do with a santa cruz or enve? SC didn't even run medium wheels in any DH race this year. loic running 650b wheels to 2nd place is worth noting considering there were hundreds of DH starters on 26-inch wheels. if someone did well on a gearbox bike or uranium frame, we'd mention that too. sven editing captions at 3am is not thinking about how he can hype up a wheel size.

9/23/2013 2:21pm there is no wheel size conspiracy going on here. no person or company is pressuring or paying vital or its contributors to say anything good or bad about wheel size. if there are captions about wheel size, it is because the information is relevant or noteworthy.

Congrats Stevie ftw and overall, most rd wins last 3 in a row, well earned, Congrats Emmeline ftw as well great end to season, got stronger as year went on like Stevie did. Need more rounds in cal year! Manon and Loic only a matter of time and very soon!

there is plenty of proper journalism on vital. But what i also like about it is their connection with the riders and media and industry and the quick from the horses mouth info as it comes. There is plenty of time and place for a proper indepth expose... but this is just info in from the other side of the world. If you dont like it dont read it. Wait for Bike or Dirt to come out in 2 months time.

We need actual retired racers to run the UCI or a different sanctioning Authority to stop this confusion. By the riders for the riders. And what is up with all the Bike Park courses, everything is starting to look like a BMX Track and boring. If you gotta build a ramp over a gully then OK. Track workers are cutting roots out but then you build a cement rock garden. I don't get it. A waste of materials, time and man-power. The error of difficulty needs to remain. The bikes will follow the easier path.
