7/30/2019 10:28am I'm 5'10" also, and I split my time between M/L, depending on the type of riding, and I don't think I could even effectively ride a modern XL... plus on frames larger than 19" I wouldn't be able to run a dropper (31" inseam). Reaches around 460mm are comfy and stable at speed, but not much fun; reaches under 445mm...

That geometry is ugly... price is a little steep. Can you guys do a review on a better upcoming carbon hardtail? This looks more promising. https://www.diamondback.com/mountain-bikes/hardtail/syncr-carbon

At 6'7"/200lbs, I've broken about a dozen or so frames in my time, steel and alloy. I choose, or chose back before my MS, to ride hard. I just don't see current carbon holding up having seen so many cracked carbon frames come through the shop. Never could afford one myself. I am super excited about Gorilla Gravity's new technology though.

Old guy's foot in mouth disease... Screw carbon. I have zero plans to be stuck in the back country with a broken frame. Santa Cruz as a town has a fantastic history of steel. Hire local and make the Steelmelion. Roots! Yeeww! Ten down votes, a personal record! Get me to twenty and I'll wheelie around the block on my homemade steel DH bike.

1/19/2018 8:08am Yea, I'm perfectly content with my Mega (as I was with previous bikes), but as usual, as "standards" change and I can no longer easily get the parts I want as a result, I'll be forced to buy a new frame in less than 2 years (this time I expect boost to be the problem).

11/19/2017 2:39pm The bottom line is, it depends. Longer reach is stable at speed, while shorter reaches are more playful and more precise in slower, technical and tight, twistier trails. If all you ride is park or long, fast descents, then long reach is your friend, but if you ride trails that have slower, tighter sections, then you might dial it back...

I'm about 5'-10" (on a good day) with normal proportions, and accustomed to medium frames with around 410-420mm reach, and using a 50mm stem... I'm looking at a new frame, also medium (18"), that is 440mm (ETT at 616!)... that scares me, as it's a huge jump. In my history of riding mtb (about 28 years), with length comes stability, but at the expense of maneuverability, especially on tighter, more technical trails. As for fun, I've always enjoyed smaller frames more. The "small" (16") version of this frame is 420mm; on the long end of the bikes I've been riding...

Judging by the photos and components, they made it 10 years ago, got distracted and left it sitting outside behind the shed, then just recently walked back there, saw it and thought, "oh crap, we never took this bike to a show!"
