New brake combo in the works. TRP / Oak Lever / Maven base 18/18mm caliper. Shimano BH90 lines and maxima mineral oil. I previously tried the 19.5/18mm maven caliper with these same levers, and found the lever throw to be a little excessive. I'm hoping the 18/18mm caliper reduces that a bit. The TRP levers don't suffer the pump out effect experienced with maven/shimano levers. No swing link / servowave action, just heaps of mechanical leverage on a 9mm master cylinder.

my 29' crowns do exactly that, thinking maybe you didn't understand my question ! i've got exactly the same fork but i'm using it with 29" crowns on 29" wheels with 57 offset instead of the 27.5 crowns, been at the factory last year and the guys at Manitou recommended the 2 bolt upper crown on the comp version with aluminium legs, 4 bolts or 2 bolts on aluminium legs - no visible difference - only on the carbon legs dorado you might feel a difference

The 27.5 crowns are necessary for 2 reasons - 4 bolts vs 2 bolts increases stiffness, and with how tall the headtube is with the external reach cups, the tire would bottom out on the crown.

The polished Dorado looks nice. The single speed is also sweet. Perfect park bike.

Not sure if this is the right spot to ask this. But I am rather new to higher end brakes, and just got a set of hope tech 4 v4's installed. I have only rode them a couple times when we had some nice weather, as i installed them during the winter in canada. Recently i have noticed they are rubbing and ive been trying to figure out how to fix it, I have done some alignment but in the process of doing that i have noticed the pistons push out inconsistently, like one side will come almost all the...

That Fluid Focus piston is actually a PUSH piston that we used to sell them as part of our DXH Factory Tuning Kit. I've seen that piston offered by a couple of independent suspension tuners that we used to sell to. Once we stopped offering those types of products, a number of tuners took the parts to local machine shops and had them reverse-engineered because they already had all of the valve codes to go with them.

Linkage driven single pivot is not a four bar. You're looking at the suspension characteristics not the number of links, so it's a single pivot. Same for Delta.

Just a thought on bike weights. For ever, everybody has been going for the lightest weight bikes possible. And with the narrow wide chainring, chain guides have pretty much disappeared. But now riders are sticking lead weights to their bottom brackets. What if the good old MRP style chain guide came back, but made out of plate steel instead of alloy?
