I was wondering about the Horst Link patent status, when I looked up the design date (1980), I suddenly felt very old. I wasn't saying it's a bad design or these will be bad bikes. In fact, I know it is the opinion of many well informed suspension engineers that horst link is still the best design. Just thought it was funny too see them talking about it like it's something new, although you can say that about 99% of mtb marketing.

Remember when 800 dollars was as much money as you could spend on a wheelset? Way way back in 2009 or so. $850 for this, are you kidding me? I think because ENVEs cost the GDP of a small central american country, everyone thinks they can price their wheels in multiples of 1000 now. 800 dollars still buys you a handbuilt wheelset with Hadley/King/ or DT hubs, DT champion spokes, and whatever rim you feel like. For sure you can expect a little more carnage and raggedness at worlds, today it just bit a few more than usual out of the contenders. I was right there with you hoping Neko would hold on to it. Personally I think the #1 plate means a lot more than the rainbow jersey. Champions should be crowned based on a series, not one roll of the dice.

Some interesting stuff happened, but I agree with JCL that it wasn't the best race to watch. Neko's chain, Greg, Danny and Sam's crashes, Bryceland's ankle, just lots of bad luck going around. Not to say Gee didn't deserve it, but his run wasn't that great either with that big bobble. Usually you need perfection to win worlds.

This is correct. I'm not sure about their newer stuff, but for many moons, Transition has been strictly a taiwanese catalog company. But it's totally rider owned bro.
