My O chain does not move at all without pulling the chain forward until the hub engages. Immediately, there is enough resistance to pull the chain and engage the hub. After the hub engages, the pedal then travels the full of 12* without pulling the chain. Once you bottom out the 12*, it will the pedal normally, of course. I’m...

The second half of this hits hard. I was a director of our cycling club for years and would build a climb trail that parents would then complain their 7 yo didn’t like to climb. Of course they don’t. Kids hate climbing, quit dragging them around and let them enjoy mtb their way. I’ve also pushed hard to have a...
A random O chain thought: I enjoy my O chain and feel like it works as advertised. However, the resistance of the elastomers is enough to engage my hub (dt350). This gives a tapping feeling before the feeling of bottoming out the elastomer in the free throw of the ochain. It’s a two stage tap which is kind of annoying...

All the concepts are out there but not all of them are put together in a single package. Lots of bikes are very decent but are also not totally dialed. Take for example, the new Fuel. Pretty good looking bike but if you’re a large it has a 75* effective seat tube and I’m pretty sure, super short seat stays...

Chris did in fact say that you could propel the bike by bouncing. “ If you stand on the bike and bounce, you will be propelled forward. Pedal bob propels you forward.”

To be fair, Matt isn’t trying to explain anything. He’s letting the guy say his own piece and he’s not pushing him on it. But he is riding the bike and comment on its characteristics. As you said, he's good at riding bikes.
