Downhill bikes are like nukes: if you want to be taken serious you need to own them, if you use them or not. 😉 Hoping that the downhill bike gets plenty of use and the nuke none.

I have a set of wao strifes that I got used on Brett Rheeders old bike from 2021. 70+ whistler days, multiple provost days, a ton of cases, rim dingers and I’ve never even touched a spoke. But I do run cushcore. I love carbon.
Off topic but everyone in BJJ is on juice, it’s like saying Ronnie Coleman isn’t the greatest bodybuilder cuz of PEDs. You have to assume a lot of mtb racers are on PEDs, there’s no way the testing is any good. They can’t even figure out how to route a b line.

“Why do these new grips feel like crap?” weeks pass “Why does my right grip have a big L on the end? … Oohhhhh” I also found myself the other day mistaking the ft-lb scale on my new torque wrench for the Nm scale so now I’m wondering what bolts on my bike are fighting for their lives rn.

Not sure what "actual data" is required but...let's use maven (noted red) and motive (noted green), both sram brakes, as an example. At the start of the stroke, the motives have a lighter pull to start biting, so there's a data point for that (bottom left green). The mavens are going to take a bit more to get going, so bottom right red point notes that. At an arbitrary high force, the mavens will generate more braking force than the motives - you can base that either on many of whom have rode both, or the simple fact that motives have...

I think my sight is 23ish with dh casing/cushcore/800wh/coil rear/38 and the only place I notice the weight is jumping. And overall my upper body gets more sore but that might just be because of more laps.

Pinner Machine Shop also makes an adapter for the Shimano bleed cup to fit on SRAM mineral oil brakes. Once you have the adapter, you can use the fancy billet aluminum Pinner bleed cup or a standard white plastic Shimano cup. The adapter is only $13 USD. Worth it's weight in gold: https://pinnermachineshop.com/en-us/products/bleed-cup-adapter?variant=… I agree with others about the efficacy of the lever bleed method to get any tricky air bubbles out of a Maven bleed, especially when they emerge over the course of a ride or two after a bleed. I've found a lot of luck doing the overnight...

Someone pulled out in front of him in practice. I believe at the step-down jump. Hopefully he wasn't the cause of the helicopter evacuation.

After she won the enduro on her first race on that weird stem I had her winning a World Cup last year but she never got it. This year for sure with a Proper wc off season.

It is sick, exactly like my spire but with longer chainstays which is what I wanted. Great at jumping, way more nimble than the trek I came off. But yea the routing is just so annoying.

My newest dumb problem is that I got one of the new tr11 frames and they put the screws for the frame cable guides underneath the cables and it’s pretty delicate plastic. So you need a buddy to pull the cable out of the way super hard while he also holds the guide in place and you fight to get...
