Spot on! While I am obviously no expert in MTB World Cup budgets and salaries, I think the money and the logistics behind supporting three top riders must be huge, respectively complicated. So I also don't think there is any warranty that Neko has a spot on whatever team Gwin will be on. And while I have zero concerns for Gwin and if he ends up in a good place, I really really REALLY wish the lesser hyped guys like Neko to find a program and do well and continue racing. I agree... Neko is doing a lot of work for the east coast scene that will bring a lot of additional exposure to his sponsors...

They’re all super talented, and I think they’re all just getting started. I think Neko’s value should be up there because of windrock and how involved he is with east coast mtb in general. He’s an approachable guy, who’s promoting the sport in ways that include all different levels of riders. He has a bigger reach than just his WC results.

I'm a yuge Nino fan, but he did Finale in 2013 and got 167th. He'd stand a good chance of winning most non-elite enduro races (like anything in the US), but the EWS is gnarly. And FWIW, he's been challenged by MVDP, Sam Gaze, and others this year. Like we saw with Gwin a few years back, his competition has clearly leveled-up.

The sad thing is that it wouldn't be surprising if the team has a buyout clause to easily pull the plug. Let's hope not though. I'm ready for 2020 team rumors that Nino will start doing EWS events
