1 hour ago Wondering how people interpret the 95th valve and whether it’s one of the main valves you analyse.

3/25/2026 1:35am What you describe sounds just like super-short chainstay bikes, not necessarily a high pivot. I'm super curious to hear your feedback on that Dreadnaught to verify your theory. LONG RANT INBOUND From my limited experience, it sounds like one of the main benefits of high or mid-high pivot bikes is that the idler pulley on most designs acts like a chainless rear suspension- it is typically tuned to reduce any chain pull and subsequent drag on suspension performance. Its hard to sus out this difference along with the change in axle path. A more rearward axle path will obviously help...

3/10/2026 8:06am Could I please request that people add a quick reminder note of their bike & suspension with these posts? eg Bike: 2023 Levo Fork: FOX 38 170mm Shock: Vivid Coil 550lb/in spring I lose track of what people are on, and I think its important to not forget the context of what the data relates to. So also include what you feel it could be better or is doing well in terms of is it bottoming, harsh on big bumps, wallowing on rolling terrain and so on. Just looking at a set of numbers, there can be multiple things causing...

2/23/2026 11:25am There's probably a few reasons - A full size schraeder valve will reduce frame clearance or IFP volume, and both are usually at a premium already. Picture below is a DVO with full size schrader, vs a Fox X2 cap The sunken schraeder design like rockshox and new fox shocks is actually a standard part - its the same thread as inside a regular schraeder and is also ubiquitous in the HVAC industry. So the adapter is easy to find is fine to use with a standard shock pump I like the pellet sealing systems, it does seem to give...

2/23/2026 3:54am Oh yeah with that 2-stage compression stack it will be super light.....I'm not sure how much the second stage will be doing with the 0.2mm total crossover gap and 12mm OD shim in there. If you're lucky, it might be equivalent to their CL tune, but I would also look very closely at the compression shims once you have torqued the piston bolt - a small clamp shim and big face shims are super prone to flexing away from the piston once tightened down. There should be ZERO daylight between the face shim and piston. It's easiest to tune a...

12/23/2025 1:16am what are the first 3 things people are looking at when analysing data? I usually go straight to dynamic sag, compression and rebound speeds and max travel used.

12/20/2025 1:07am I don’t have the full run in front of me, but based on what’s shown here, I can echo the suggestions from @TheSuspensionLabNZ and @carlinojoevideo. 1) SAG looks fine, but it could probably be improved (playing with air and compression). 2) I’d try better to balance rebound and compression between the front and rear. You can go either way: speed up the front or speed up the rear, depending on which end you liked most. I’d also recommend trying lower air pressure and compensating for the reduced spring support with more damping (which may include revalving). Running the rebound completely...

7/29/2025 2:36am I personally wouldn’t touch the pressures if they were the same bike with different head angles. But then having 66 and 62.5 tells me that the bikes are going to be used for 2 totally different applications so then, yes technically you would need to adjust the pressures for each discipline. 🤓 No need to change pressure for the shape...

5/9/2025 11:01pm Hello there! Would be absolutely great to get some screen shots from a run and for someone to go through exactly what there analysing. I’m sure it would be useful for people and for everyone to talk about and give their opiniones on certain things. I’m totally new to this so abit of learning from people who know their stuff...

5/7/2025 7:20am I'm curious about why Mondraker's MIND system didn't succeed. The system has distance sensors in the front fork and rear suspension pivot. Mondraker could have easily done the basic position based derivates and therefore general suggestions for end user on balance and suspension setup on their web portal. I have this system on my bike, but the electronic hardware keeps failing. I've stopped sending it back to the factory for replacement because it took them over a year to create entirely new hardware for the Summum, and then development seemed to stop altogether. The phone application updates are infrequent, if...

5/7/2025 7:16am Hello everyone, I'm following up to share the latest details on the Telemetry V3 family: BYB Telemetry V3 and BYB Telemetry V3 Pro Here you can find just an easy summary table with the main differences (there are a lot of new features, not listed below...otherwise the comparison table would have been way longer!) More info here: https://bybtech.it/product/telemetry For any questions, we're always available to reply: enrico@bybtech.it Best Enrico

5/7/2025 12:28am Great to see Enrico posting here. FWIW, he's answered every question I've sent him via email by the next day and always offered me additional support. BYB is a great product that is very fun to play with (normal people edition) but having Enrico back it with his time and replies just makes it even better.

4/30/2025 12:30am I mostly look at dynamic sag and the travel distribution plot to begin with as they will help guide spring rate/pressure/tokens, but can also give some good insights to the damping too. The actual values I expect have a fairly wide range to begin with, and I'll compare them to the other metrics to decide if they are in the ballpark or not (eg 20% dynamic sag at the shock and 28% on the fork could be quite acceptable, but if they are on the same bike then something is out of whack....) Typical values can be - Dynamic sag...

4/29/2025 5:31am Seems appropriate to me! 1) not exactly-Because I recommend having tyres dialled in with appropriate casing, width and pressure first and suspension second. They both contribute to the system but in quite different ways so if you changed tyres then needed a suspension change it would mean you didn't have an appropriate tyre before. In reality it might not always work that way - I always say tyres are criminally misunderstood so its hard for people to pick the best tyres from the start and you might need a little bit of back and forward. Personally I think each rider/application...

4/15/2025 10:23am Yeah thats bascially it, the backside of that top lock piston is dished so those shims are preloaded to create a threshold of where the shims open and blow off. The lowest shim you circled is the rebound check shim though - that prevents oil flowing through the rebound circuit on compression. The top 2 are the lockout tune, and I think they usually have a couple of different options there depending on how much platform the rider or bike is after

4/9/2025 7:11am Kind of, in reality there is no lockout, when "lockout" is on it simply directs the oil through those shims so it's an extra compression shim stack, compression needle assembly seems to cover different ports on the piston so either oil gets through shimstack or bypasses it. In practice there will be always some flow through this stack but it may be stiff enough to make this flow minimal utill a strong hit. So basically yes, but I would not call it a lockout, it's just super high compression mode.

4/9/2025 4:39am Afternoon, Can someone confirm the use of the lock shims circled here. I assume they are used for “blow off” incase the shock encounters a hit while it’s in the lockout position?
