Yes something like the Tweel would probably be heavier. But does anyone think that when Gwin crossed the finish line last week with no tire at all, that he wouldn't have rather had a bullet proof wheel with the additional 4lb weight? (I'm just guessing 2lbs extra per wheel here)

Guys, This is one of the most mature, informed and sensible discussion that's happened in a long time, I don't normally both with comments, so quickly do they degenerate to total shit, so props for having an informed opinion and sharing it with others that care about the sport we all love. Oh and f**k the UCI—just as corrupt and power hungry as FIFA!!!

I for one, don't want every course to be "cookie cutter". Some motorsports have that mentality, and it's terribly boring (read: awful). I like seeing the variety and character that each track on the WCD circuit has; I think it'd be a terrible shame to see that go away.

I really like the that Troy Lee are doing their own thing and going for a style which is not so mainstream anymore. It makes sense considering how heavily they have influenced the current look going on at Fox and Bell. It's like those guys have just caught up to what tld were doing, so they're going to do something else. As good as the Fox/Bell helmets look I think it's important that there is an alternative on offer. As for the glossy old-school look, I think they've pulled it off really well with the Gwin and the Speed Orange...
