As someone who lives within a short bike ride of Camp Alpine, I can assure you those trails aren't what you're looking for. If I had to drive there, I’d skip them altogether. They can be fun local loops, but they’re unsanctioned legacy social trails with nothing special in terms of terrain or mileage. @longroadtonowhere I'm not sure what your...

Port jervis is a good time. Not down country at all. But mt creek is an absolute blast and a must stop if you are in nyc imo.

I'm sure I'm not the only one here with a cellphone constantly below 50% battery. I simply can't keep up with charging anything enough to justify batteries on my bikes anymore. My latest MTB build went back to being fully mechanical after running AXS since it dropped in 2019 and I couldn't be happier as a self admitted luddite. AXS...

Thanks to those who have chimed in and/or participated in the poll so far! What this comes down for me is something I can answer in a few simple questions. Does the technology improve the bike riding experience? If so, how much? With respect to electronic shifting, I don't see it. Its a nice to have, its sexy, it shifts well, but I don't find my on bike experience to be any better than a good mechanical system and its more expensive. I've had numerous rides when I had it where I had the battery crap out (or I left...

Same sentiments for Dave Trummer. I really feel that the move to Mondraker set his career back at a time when he was arguably reaching his prime. It's a good thing for Austria that Andreas Kolb hit his stride but it could've been great to see more than one Austrian battling it out for podium places.

Also don't discount the impact of even 1 to 2 degrees of sweep between your old and new set up and its influence on reach numbers. I recently switched to a set of 12 degree backsweep handlebars after riding 8 and 9 degree backsweep bars for nearly my entire time on bikes outside of BMX. I went with a 38mm...

I've been riding in the Giro New Road line recently which utilizes a similar bib short pocket system and its actually been amazing for ditching the camel back for rides. However I totally agree that throwing a water bottle in there makes you look like a total goon. I use it for snacks, tools and tubes on shorter rides when only a water bottle in my cage is necessary but I can't imagine it feels good to have the weight of an additional water bottle tugging down at the shoulders of your bib shorts, at that point I would just...
