Specialized really upped their game I think with these 23 Evo's. First of all speccing the OneUp bar/stem combo is a nice upgrade from the Roval stuff that came before and I really like that although it comes spec'd as a mullet with their mullet specific link they give you the 29 link with the bike in case you'd prefer the other configuration.

What volume rear tire do you run compared to front?

I’m curious as well. If/when my rear hub goes out, I think I’ll switch to the mullet config. I’ve really enjoyed it on my Levo.

Haha @daneb sounds really curious.

I haven't I can't compare on this bike but having ridden mmany mullets and full 29's the mullet is going to be an advantage in very steep trails. Especially if theres steep chutes or big steep rock rolls into tight turns its makes the rear end more mangable especially on longer travel bikes that will have long rear ends with a 29in rear wheel. But if the trails aren't as steep or are with long run outs I'd probably still opt for the full 29.

I got a Stumpy EVO LTD and it came as a mullet. The OEM mullet link makes it blow through the travel a little more quickly. I've heard that the MRP link is the better way to go. I now just ride mine as full 29er. I do a lot of climbing so its been nice.. but also just had a nice set of 29er wheels that I wanted to use. Long story short, its kinda what you would expect. Mullet is more fun downhill and a little easier to rip into turns with. 29er feels a little more stable I think and climbs just a smidge better. I wouldn't say it was a night and day difference though. I should note that I never tried the mullet set up in the low and slack setting too. I bet that would be an awesome set up.
