Last June 27, 2014 I bought the new Öhlins TTX shock 22M from the most famous Italian reseller called Andreani Group. The suspension has been modified on the classic head of the shock which is usually assembled on the Demo 8 with a totally redesigned one for reasons of space specifically for Santa Cruz. The functioning, however, remains the same. The length is 240mm and the stroke is 76mm while the average price for Italy is 780 € + 22% VAT (government taxes). Yep, definitely the SRAM 1x11 drivetrains! Less components for more money. How does that work? You can buy a new motorcycle engine for that price. Forks and shocks are overpriced in my opinion too. You can buy an entire decent quality mtb bike for the price of a retailed fork and shock. Wheelsets are also overpriced. I can get two...

I'm going to play Devil's Advocate for a second here since there's a lot of assumptions and blind hate toward Giant. There are other possibilities for the lawsuit being dismissed than Giant being an evil Goliath. Maybe DW's claims of patient violations would not have held up in patient court as DW originally thought so he dropped the claims. Maybe the cost of litigation and the time fighting was not worth even the best possible outcome; this would likely have been true against even a small company and is not specific to a large company like Giant. Ohlins and BOS are two companies that had success with factory works World Rally Championship teams. In fact, that's how I first found out about them back in the day. Both are legendary companies and it may be a hard decision on who to go with for my suspension upgrade next year.

It's not used in motocross as far as I know. I think it would work well in moto, but just hasn't gotten there yet. Think about it this way: F1 cars want stiff suspension for cornering, braking, accelerating and to resist against their massive downforce. They want the suspension to move when the car hits a bump or apron on track. A mountain biker wants stiff (efficient) suspension for pedaling, braking & cornering. MTB rider wants the suspension to move when we hit something on trail. This valve was designed for cars, but applies well to mountain bikes.

The article says it should be compatible with conventional tires. If it's like the Tubliss system, then it's more of a unique inner tube with an extra valve hole in the rim rather than a unique tire.

Agreed, low psi tires often feel squirmy. I can't see dipping clear down to 14psi like they mention as the extreme, but something in the 18psi range could be interesting to try IF the inner chamber helps provide some support. Truly useful or just complicating things? We'll see...

Mavic/michelin Le System was basically the same thing back in like 05. It's a great idea, we rigged one up at the fix with 650c tubular road tires in a UST rim. Worked well but you couldn't change the tire pressure once the road tire was inflated. Super stoked this is coming out, if it works as well as Tu-bliss, I'm buying it.
