I can assure you it's not fake. I know the brand/component these guys are talking about. It went from 300 days last fall to 450 days in December, then 620 days in Jan/Feb. I'm doing my forecasts for our purchasing department so that they can order product to arrive in late 2023 right now (30 months from now). Forecasting (which is essentially trying to predict the future), is incredibly difficult under the best circumstances. In the present situation, there's almost zero detail on what the product will look like 2+ years from now other than the vaguest of details ("so-and-so...

I think we'll see a carbon version sooner than later.. With everything going on right now, a carbon version may have pushed off the release. Or, maybe they are selling enough DH bikes to justify the extra expense..

Could have been... The way it read out to me was Specialized told Kate early on that she wasn't getting a new contract... So, she was already shopping before she won the worlds.. That win had to up her asking price and made Specialized look bad by not keeping her... It would have been good of Trek to let Katy...

That's why many pros have agents or managers to handle that stuff.. Some people don't want to be talking numbers and such.. It sounds like Katy is taking this as a learning experience and most likely will be proactive next time a contract year comes around..

I agree with you on the she is saying she should have been more proactive about looking ahead of rime. I think it's commendable on her behalf to take that attitude..
