I could be wrong, but I assumed whoever he was talking about had limited social media presence. 'Let(ting) the riding do the talking' would mean little to no outside exposure, so no Instagram, ride days with customers, or other things to generally help increase brand exposure. This is pure speculation, but given that I personally thought he was talking about someone like Matt Walker who does not have a social media presence but performed very well. Maybe contract update talks after winning the World Cup overall did not gain him much because of this.

The only logical destination for Vali Hoell is Trek, imho. Her current sponsors will fit in just fine (i.e. Red Bull, TLD, SRAM) and she gets to be on a new bike from one of the biggest brands in cycling. Trek hasn't had a solid female DH rider since Rachel Atherton and, before her, Tracy Moseley. If VH reaches her potential, it continues a tradition of great women champions. At least, that's what Trek is betting on.

What if Loris is actually not very stoked on Fox, seeing his frenchie buddies kill it on RS and Öhlins. While we're all stuck on Fox, Loris, Jordie, dialled, etc... I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if he was to seek out a team with a different suspension sponsor.
