Update: installed the oversized pins, and the post is play free! It's worth mentioning that I did a full rebuild to install the pins, which was super easy, and the post was as smooth as new afterwards.

Biggest breakthroughs in the future will be low to mid level models getting much closer in performance to the top end bikes. A revolution in the tire/wheel department that will be the biggest improvement of bikes since decent discbrakes or dropperposts. The type of thing that will have you saying I can’t believe we did the old way so long. Lastly I think gearboxes are inevitable as the pros are undeniable and someone will figure out surpassing the cons At the right price point to basically kill off derailleurs on any bike more than a grand.

6/23/2020 1:24am Patching tire slashes that are too big for sealant with shoe goo and amazon tire patches. Have to do it for every one of my rear tires somewhere along their lifetime.

I just left the tyre on its side out of its packaging and it mounted up with crappy track pump. Last hack was stiching a 25mm slash in a Brand new tyre at the last foxhunt. It worked for a few months.

Very well said! This is a genuine 12-speed drivetrain, not a collection of 12 gears for the sake of claiming 1 more cog.

Love that Shimano are sticking with Micro Spline for the entry level group, instead of doing what SRAM did with the NX Eagle cassette (ditching XD driver and going with a reduced range cassette on the old Shimano style freehub driver). What this means is that there is an easy upgrade path available to people who buy lower specced bikes, where they can swap out the cassette to save some weight down the line without having to also get a new freehub driver or potentially even have to change out the whole wheel. Kudos to Shimano on this one!

This makes me happy for all those mid-to-low-range mountain bikes! This range now has good suspension, good brakes, good wheels, good droppers and a good drivetrain. I hope the price of bikes are low to spread the fun.
