AGR97 Started a new thread CTE. What do we know so far?
7/5/2016 12:59pm It was with great sadness today that I read of the passing of Simon Sharp. One of the original founders of Hope, he was incredibly talented on a Mountain bike and also a Trials Motorbike. Part of the sad news story that I read on Trials central, Article here: http://www.trialscentral.com/news-archive/uk-trials-news/18344-sad-loss… stated this: "In his riding career he suffered several concussions...

AGR97 Added a reply to What Bike Feature is Most Important to You?
7/1/2016 2:38pm Geometry all the way, a 20kg 100mm bike with good reach, bb height, and head angle will outperform the crap out of an 8kg 160mm bike with short reach, a high bb and steep head angle.

AGR97 Added a comment about video Morzine Antics with Josh Lewis & Max Nerurkar | 50to01

The film quality is poor, the filmer continuously cuts off the head of the rider and has them almost out of shot. But I don't care. That was quite possibly one of the f*ckin greatest MTB videos I've ever seen.

6/27/2016 2:30pm 15 out of 15, just shows how different maufacturer's bikes on the WC circuit are. A test for today's Motocross bikes would be way more challenging. I wonder if soon all bike designs will mimic one another almost entirely.

AGR97 Added a reply to What Single Piece of Advice Would You Give the Aspiring Racer?
6/13/2016 1:51pm Totally agree on the coaching point, becoming the first international Lee Likes Bikes coach has completely changed a lot of my riding knowledge and now my riding is 100X safer, smoother, better, and faster. http://www.leelikesbikes.com/alex-roberton Now I need to get out there and add speed and power on a racecourse

6/10/2016 3:44pm As an 18 year old who is planning to eventually race World Cups as the overall goal I feel this post applies to me greatly. Thanks for posting this dude! The best piece of advice I've had so far is to treat your race run like just another practice run. As soon as you start trying to pin it you...

AGR97 Added a reply to UCI 2017 Event Schedule - Only 6 DH Races?
6/9/2016 7:50am Ok here's what I'm thinking. In the next few years someone comes up with a series similar to EWS, for arguement's sake we'll call it the Downhill World Series. Venues that want to host rounds can, there'll be AT least ten rounds if not more. Scoring will be done to include a certain number of rounds at the start to...

6/8/2016 3:46pm Hey man, are you running both offset bushings? What does that push the head angle and bb to? Any clearance issues? How does it ride with them? Thanks

AGR97 Added a reply to UCI 2017 Event Schedule - Only 6 DH Races?
6/8/2016 2:11pm This forum post I feel should be labelled "Why the UCI should no longer run Downhill" Everything the UCI does annoys me, license fees, Kit regulations and fines, scheduling, crazy rules and dq's in races. Just think how much better our sport would be if someone else besides these money grabbing roadies ran it, I'm looking at you Red Bull...
AGR97 Added a reply to Will Electric Downhill Bikes Become A Thing?
6/7/2016 2:12pm You've just invented E-Adventure-Duro Biking! Devil's advocate: Now what happens when the motor runs out of juice or breaks, you going to carry tools to fix an electric motor, or will you pedal that 50lb "bicycle" the 40miles you traveled to get there?
AGR97 Added a reply to Will Electric Downhill Bikes Become A Thing?
6/7/2016 2:01pm Ebikes for commuting are a very sensible idea, you can cover more distance, more quickly, and with less effort. Electric mountain bikes? Unless there are extenuating circumstances then suck it up and enjoy the sport you signed up for. Like someone said earlier if you don't want to pedal get a moto, pedalling is fundamentally part of riding a mountain...

AGR97 Started a new thread Where does your money go?
5/15/2016 9:36pm Mountain biking isn't cheap, the faster I go, the more stuff I tend to break and in the search of more speed and thrills some of us are quite happy to lay down the dough on new parts all in the glorious pursuit of speed. A lot of people however don't spend a lot on bikes and equipment but focus...
