AGR97 Added a reply to How Far Do You Drive to Ride?

My local forest with like 5 trails is only a couple of minutes ride away. By trails I mean 20 second descents as I live in the UK, to get anywhere good I'll either travel about an hour north or south occasionally but it's hard when I work most weekends
At what point is a bicycle not a bicycle? That's a seated pedaling machine rather than a mountain bike that you can hop, wheelie, manual, and generally throw around. Sketchy if you ask me, I'd rather have more control and 29 is plenty big enough for my 6ft 3 height thank you

Gee was dodgy on that "new tires" answer... I don't think he's stoked to be on bontrager tires.

I'd love to have a go at riding this bike, I wonder how any good BMXer who can fakie well would get on, the concept is pretty similar yes?

2016 was packed with sad news by now. But this tops it all. He didn't deserved that. His family and friends didn't deserved that. I hope he died with a smile on his face doing sick tricks. May he ride in peace.

Damn. His passing brings back so many memories. RIP Big Papi. For those who remain: shred on and live large.

Especially DH??!!! IMO Downhill racing is the last place a system like this would be found considering the punishment the bikes take. And more importantly what would be the point? We've seen Gwin win without a chain and Bryceland hardly looks to be pedalling his balls off when on his was to a win. I like to think that there...

Cool perspective, but remember that since the bikes weren't all in the same front/rear cog combo, comparing chain growth, etc. is pointless.

I don't think anyone starts a sport for the single reason it isn't in the Olympics, but I do like the idea of rougher trails becoming more common again but that's another issue for another day. And about the slopestyle I'm sorry it sounded like I thought it was lame which is totally not the case, I really can appreciate...

Having only seen World cup tracks on my laptop, (shout out to red bull tv for coverage) I'd argue the good tracks do look gnarly on TV. If I as a rider think the tracks look hard imagine what someone who doesn't ride will think of them. All this despite the fact that the tracks don't look as good as...

If the course is lame then the number of people spectating will be low, which means people would not be inspired to participate in the sport. If DH did go into the Olympics the tracks would have to be epic and the whole event would have to kick ass, just look at the sad story of slopestyle in the X...

A lot of people are making the point that if the tracks weren't good it would suck. Which is completely true, nobody wants to watch "DH Lite" because that's all they cpuld get the coverage to do but I believe a gnarly track could be made and filmed properly given the time available for each organiser. Even if the runs...

I thought about logistics as well when coming up with an answer. You've got to remember that some sports take place miles away from the actual stadium and given the time that hosts have to prepare they can surely dig 1 track alongside building entire stadiums. I agree that we are in a great place, but you could argue that...

Formula 1, Motocross, and Supercross aren't for everyone but a lot of people spend their time watching people do something they might never do. Big sponsors means more money to pros, it's about time they earned what other athletes who work an equal amount do. And also some fans, hell a lot of fans of Downhill that are also riders...
